Pleasant and semi-private water tour of manhattan

* Free first round of beer - and they have a good IPA available. * The captain gives good info for the tour, but hard to hear him sometimes * The staff is nice. And they will expect a tip at the end, bring cash. They are good people.

The tour was very well-run and informative. What a great way to learn more about the city! Beautiful ship that accommodated a good-sized group of 35-40, knowledgeable guide, skilled captain, solicitous crew, and (a surprise) snacks and drinks were served. Highly recommended!

An Awesome Experience

My 5 friends and I loved our sailing experience in New York. The yacht was amazing and the crew friendly. We brought some nibbles on board to enjoy with the complimentary wine. The weather was beautiful and the view spectacular. I would highly recommend this for anybody wanting to do something truly memorable when visiting New York.

My daughter wanted to do the jazz cruise for her 26th birthday. We went, hoping it would be a fun thing to do in celebration. It exceeded our expectations and we had a blast!

Beautiful sunset cruise with several experienced, courteous deck hands and unlimited drinks. Enjoyed some great pics of the city skyline, Statue of Liberty, and a sky that looks like it was painted. Slow ride was great for a date. Large enough ship to carry 40 people easily.

I was introduced to this tour last year and decided to bring more friends this year. They are consistently awesome, with a great staff, beautiful boat, and expanded selection of drinks. They have a customer for life.

What a wonderful way to see Manhattan from a unique perspective under sail on a beautifully maintained vessel without the din of an engine. The captain and crew are gracious and take pride in their mastery of this ancient skill.

AIA Architectural trip

While it was a fascinating trip, with so much architecture pointed out, I was disappointed that the commentary was only for new structures. When going under the GW bridge, I thought that we'd hear about the red lighthouse, and then there're the 3 tall structures that Columbia built, with one 6-story owner between 2 of the towers NOT selling, and that's noteworthy. And finally, Riverside Church/Grants Tomb, both clearly visible. None of these were mentioned.

Learned a lot, had fun

I saw a lot of buildings that I had never noticed before. Also realized how different some of them look when seen from the sea. The wine and snacks were a pleasant surprise and added to the sense of festivity. I have already recommended the cruise to others and would take it again myself. I also bought the book written by one of the co-hosts.

disappointed and relieved to be off the boat
Sun, Sep 16, 12   2:00 PM schwandes Female 70+ Domestic Tourist(s) Family Without Children
This tour, which we looked forward to so much, was very disappointing. We are not architects but are very interested in architecture and it is always a focus in our travels. On this tour 159 buildings were pointed out including the year of construction and the architectual firm responsible for the building. It was really aimed at architects even though it claimed to be for a broader audience. The main problem was the experts talked enthusiastically and non stop for 2 and 3/4 hours over a loud speaker...so there wasn't a moment of quiet or space between the recitation of name of the building, year of construction, architectual firm ...just one long noisy blur. One and 3/4 hours into it we both really wanted to jump ship. There was an expert the day we went. That may have been the problem....TWO very enthusiastic men with the mind set "so many buildings, so little time".
