Fantastic sunset cruise on the hudson

Overall, a great experience on the schooner America 2.0. Probably the best way to view the lower half of Manhattan, Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. The crew were very relaxed, always smiling and attentive with the drinks. The Captain kept the engine use to mimum which I appreciate, since it is a sailing cruise. I appreciated that although the schooner is described as state-of-the art, the boat is still finished as if it belonged to the past. I do recommend that you have a snack before jumping on the boat, as a few people still waiting to have dinner post cruise can be caught out with a few glasses of wine. We hopefully will make it back at least annually!

A very nice surprise for my husband

Myself and my husband visited New York as part of our honeymoon holiday. I had booked the Sunset cruise as a surprise for my husband and we both loved it. It was very relaxing and offered a very nice view of Manhattan. I would just recommend that some snacks are offered with drinks, maybe just some crisps and nuts as it will go nicely with the drinks. Well done.

it was a great trip. the staff was pleasant and the ride was great. perfect weather. loved the free drinks- they should specify that you will get more than 1 round of free drinks, our group bought a bottle of wine when we didnt have to. hoping to get refunded since we never drank it. 3 rounds is plenty! thanks!

Anniversary Sunset

My husband and I did this for part of our day/night out for our first anniversary. While a little on the pricey side for a boat trip, the scenery and 3 drinks per person served on board made up for it. And I'm really glad we did it.The staff was also very friendly and helpful. We sailed to the Statue of Liberty and back and got a lot of beautiful pictures and had a great time relaxing and enjoying each other and the scenery while we sipped beverages. A really romantic trip that I would recommend to anyone.

Don't miss a sailing trip while in New York

It started to rain a little while went aboard, but cleared once we left the harbour. The America 2.0 is quite a large schooner so while there were quite a few guests on board it didn't feel crowded and everyone had plenty of room to move about. The crew were very friendly and helpful. We went on a day sail which included beverages, though other guests brought their own food on board as well. The views, even though it was cloudy, were spectacular. We sailed right past the Statue of Liberty (sailing is slow enough to get heaps of photos), and when you saw the huge crowds of people at the base of the statue I can't think of a better way to see it (apparently you can't go inside the statue anymore, and it looks better from the water anyway). The views of the city and the skyline were amazing, and watching the other sail boats was nice and relaxing too. Thoroughly recommend one of the sailing trips on the America 2.0 or one of their other vessels. Next time I think we will do a brunch sail :)

Would recommend.

I would definitely recommend this sailing trip to basically anyone. The scenery was great, the crew was courteous and attentive, and it was overall a really nice time. The only thing I would probably change or improve is the route that the boat took. It basically went south to the Statue of Liberty and then did a u-turn and came back up to Pier 62. A little bit more scenic variety might have been nice but given the two-hour time frame, I'm not even sure that would be possible. But again, overall, it was a great time.

Contemporary NYC Architectural Circumnavigation
Sun, Sep 2, 12   2:00 PM BobCrothers Male 70+ Local Unspecified
This tour, sponsored by the AIA NYC Chapter, is an extraordinary opportunity to see both the landscape and new and classic buildings in Manhattan, New Jersey, Brooklyn and The Bronx. Led by highly qualified guides aboard a classic 1920's launch with a bar and snacks on board, it totally circumnavigates the island of Manhattan in about 3 1/2 hours. This is a"must' for architecture buffs.

I have lived in NYC most of my life and have driven on the highways along the perimeter of Manhattan but seeing it at a distance on water has given me a greater perspective and appreciation for the variety of architecture and landscape in Manhattan. The tour guides from AIA are knowledgeable and engaging. I enjoyed every moment of the cruise and would take it again! The tour is packed with a lot of information and identifies well over 100 sights. It is great for those who want the education experience. That being said, I would not recommend the tour to families with small children, or to those who are not fully interested in learning. There were several families on our boat that were engaged in loud side conversations. This is disruptive to the people who are actually trying to listen to the guide (who is already competing with the noise from the wind and waves). If you want to sight see and are not fully prepared to listen and keep conversations to a minimum, i would suggest alternative sightseeing tours out of respect for others.

Perfect venue for a date. Captain and crew were very friendly and welcoming. I love sail boats and loved the 2 hr mini cruise. I would definitely take a sail boat out next time but you should be aware in this type of boat there is no protection from the sun.

This was a very good sailing experience. Sailing on a schooner in the harbor couldn't get any better.
