Perfect summer afternoon

| I attended a friday afternoon group sail with my parents who were in town from California. We had a wonderful time! The crew on our boat -- I believe their names were Kate, Tom and Chaz -- could not have been more friendly and accommodating. From the second we pulled away from the dock, it felt like we were on vacation! Cruising down the Hudson, we were treated to unprecedented views of Manhattan, Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. We really enjoyed chatting with the crew, the others on the boat, and sipping the complimentary beers. A truly relaxing afternoon. I will definitely book another sail with Sail NYC. | ||||||

| Ahoy! We found the boat squared away and the skipper and crew first rate, no nubs or rickeys on board. The bilge juice served was also first rate (though the wine, a little less so) and the cruise was just the right length of time. Being served drinks by a pair of gobs who just hoisted all that heavy canvas aloft put me in mind of a skate. Thankfully, their cheerful performance of scullery duties saved me from feeling L.W.S. (As a New Yorker, I realize the tourists want to get close to the Statue of Liberty. I would love to go under the Brooklyn Bridge under sail! That would be awesome. To come up the East River with no sound but the pinging of the boom when she swings round in Wallabout Bay!!! The crew could lower her sails to honor the Prison Ship dead buried under the newly restored Fort Green column. Oh, but there's probably a USCG restriction on such things. Too bad. And the lengthening of the cruise would probably mean balls to the wall back to the barn and that wouldn't be any fun.) Before I shove off, I want to repeat what a great time it was for the two of us. Wonderful night, great weather (after 5 weeks of rain!) and such nice, friendly people. Well worth it. I would recommend it to any one looking for a different night out or visitors who've done NY's "must see" sights and are ready for a change. Bravo Zulu, Sailors! A Satisfied Land Lubber | ||||||

| The crew was very nice and friendly. Sadly, the schooner does not go up the East River so you can't get a good view of the Brooklyn Bridge, Sea Port and other beautiful places | ||||||

| My wife and I had a fantastic time on this boat. Clean and comfortable boat with very courteous and service oriented staff (Kudos to Tom, Sara, and Austin). The views of Manhattan, Brooklyn, and the Statue of Liberty were great! It was hot and humid in the city and wonderfully cool on the water. We passed a lot of other boats and tour boats - the Yacht Manhattan was definitely "the one". Nice wood, clean, not too small or big - great! I'm a local and can't believe I haven't done this before - You'll appreciate the city even more. We'll be back. | ||||||

| Our only complaint is that we did not book this same tour for the night sail. We enjoyed the 4:30 sailing so much we wanted to do the evening sail but our time did not allow. We are definitely coming back to do this tour. The captain was so informative and did not mind answering all the questions from the kids or even the adults. The crew did everything possible to make our sailing enjoyable and memorable. I promise you that this tour is worth the price of admission and they will have to pry you from the boat !!!!!!! Thanks for a great time and expect to see us in the future. OHIO | ||||||

| My girl and I were celebrating her birthday and this turned out to be an excellent choice. The boat and crew were wonderful, there was enough space to spend time together or chat with other passengers, and the views and experience were unlike anything in Manhattan. We spent much of the time with the sails hoisted and enjoyed great views of the city, Lady Liberty, and a great sunset over Jersey. | ||||||

| My boyfriend and I sailed aboard the Adirondack for the Sunset Sail on Sunday, June 21, 2009. The boat was a beautiful yacht and the staff was very pleasant. We were provided drinks and were able to pack a light snack. My only complaint was that it began raining before we took off and because a windy storm came about while we were in route to the Statue of Liberty, we had to turn around. We got drenched! We were provided raincoats but the wind and rain was a little harsh. I was a little disappointed that we were not refunded the price of our ticket and/or provided with a new one for a sail on a later date. We traveled from Columbus, Ohio and were visiting NYC for the week - so it would have been feasible to take another sail. No attempts to provide us with this opportunity were made. Otherwise, I think it would have been a beautiful time:) | ||||||

| It was a soggy day in NYC so there were only 8 passengers aboard the Adirondack for the Sunset Cruise. Not so good for SailNYC but great for us. The boat was beautiful and the crew took care of our every need. They made sure we were comfortable even in the short rain showers. Due to the small number of people aboard we were able to have a great conversation with the crew. The Captain returned us to the dock 5 minutes early in order to avoid the down pour that hit us just as we hailed a cab. We had a blast, even in the rain! We would certainly take this cruise again. | ||||||

| Although the threat of rain lingered all day, it turned out to be a great afternoon for a sail on The Hudson! Our Captain (Julian) and crew of the Imagine were more than friendly and took away the "touristy" feel of the cruise. It was like we had gathered for an afternoon sail with a group of good friends! My family and I are all native New Yorkers, but rarely take advantage of the sights of the city, especially on the waterways of NYC. While out on the Hudson, to our surprise, my husband and I had a bit of difficulty naming the different landmarks as we sailed up and down the Hudson. Our Captain explained various facts about NYC and the surrounding waterways that usually go unnoticed with the everyday hustle and bustle of our day to day lives living and working in the city. I must admit the experience by far exceeded our expectations and while onboard, my husband and I were already planning another day trip on the Imagine or Adirondack with our friends and family as well! Great job!! With kind regards, - Renee | ||||||

| They should tell you before they are about to make a steep turn....Fun, but a little warning would avoid a lot of mess with drinks. Also, I need to know when t hold onto my son a little tighter. | ||||||

| I was expecting a larger boat/ship however the weather was bad and there were approximately 35 guests on board. The scenery/views were great. The crew was very friendly and helpful. The number of people versus the space was good. I would definitely recommend this brunch cruise. | ||||||

| We sailed on Saturday in the rain and had a very enjoyable time. The captain was engaging, funny, and very knowledgable. He gave us clear and concise instructions about safety and the weather conditions. He was knowledgable about the trip, sights, and boating in general. We felt very comfortable with the crew and their skill level. It takes a very special captain and crew to make a sail on a rainy day fun, but they did it. I highly recommend this adventure! | ||||||
