Newport Harbor cruise

Upon arrival, we were pleased to see that the Adirondack II was as beautiful and well-maintained as advertised. The crew was experienced and friendly. They gave a narrative of some of the history of the Harbor and surrounding sights without going over the top and taking over all private conversation. The cruise was fairly short - only about 1 1/2 hours and only covered a small area. It would have been nice to have been able to travel more quickly under full sail, or further, but on a busy weekend in Newport Harbor, you get what you get. Best part is that all the while enjoying the spectacular views and fresh salt air, you can enjoy cocktails (beer and wine and not no-name brands either) or soft drinks for only $1 each!!! I dare you to find that anywhere else in Newport- you won't! Looking forward to coming back for the sunset sail with Champagne!

Not too big a ship, not too small. Friendly crew. Worth the money.

Loved the pace

So different than an engine-driven boat. Watching the crew work together like clockwork is fascinating, the views are beautiful. The almost silent boat on the water is low-tech and lovely.

I've done this twice, and each time it has been extremely pleasant and relaxing. Other than not having champagne (although there was ample wine and beer), there is nothing else I could have wanted.

This was one of the highlights of our trip! We felt very safe and well-taken care of. The captain and crew were very friendly and accommodating and made us feel right at home. They were very helpful and knowledgeable. We had an absolutely delightful time and would highly recommend to everyone!

Crew and captain were as wonderful as the ship itself. My 7 year old was concerned by the fact that sailboats lean. He was certain we were doomed. However, that was only on the way out. At that time he was heard to say, "I don't like being on the water." On the way back in, he looked at me - amazed - and said, "I like it, I like being on the water." That, I think is priceless.

a great sail

My husband , myself, our nephew & his wife have made it an annual tradition to sail on the Adirondack during the July 4th weekend for about the last 10 years. We look forward to the 90 minute cruise to relax and have a few very reasonably priced drinks while soaking in the sun and appreciating the magnificent ocean views. The crew are friendly and the captain seems knowledgable of the local history. The price of the sail is reasonable & seniors are entitled to a discount which is nice in todays' economy. I hope that next year we can go on the evening sail to see the fire works from the harbor which I think would be quite spectacular. Unfortunately they were sold out this year - so maybe next year. Again, it is a very enjoyable sail! Norm & Jo-Ann King, North Kingstown, RI
