The Schooner Adirondack II, sister ship to the award-winning Adirondack in New York City, is one of the fastest and most comfortable resident sail vessels in the Newport harbor. With ample deck space and seating for up to 60, she was built and designed for taking groups of people on spectacular sightsailing adventures.
The Adirondack II is operated by Coast Guard Certifed Captains and extremely friendly and talented crew. Known for their amazing hospitality, our staff is all professionally trained and experienced on sailing our vessel well and safely. They're also very knowledgeable about all the sights you will enjoy.
Sit back, relax, and enjoy yourself. With wind behind the sails and amazing scenes in front of your eyes, everything is just breezy on the Adirondack II.

The Adirondack II wants to show appreciation to fathers everywhere this Father's Day by honoring them with three of their favorite things: Sandwiches, Beer and Sailing!
Our Father's Day Sail will provide families with a leisurely sail around Newport Harbor aboard an 80 foot pilot schooner. A smooth, gentle sailing vessel with some speediness to boot, the Adirondack II offers a comfortable ride that is brisk and invigorating. And to show we really care, father's sail for $2! (They must be accompanied by children of all ages!)
While you experience the joy of a leisurely sailing cruise, you'll:
- Experience the idyllic scenery of Newport Harbor and Narragansett Bay
- Munch on an assortment of complimentary sandwiches, including turkey, ham, and Italian on home-made bread
- Enjoy beer, wine, and champagne and soft drinks ($1 per beverage, unless you're a father - then they're free!)
- See breathtaking sights of Newport Bridge, historic lighthouses, a 19th century military fort, stately waterfront mansions, Hammersmith Farm - the former Summer Whitehouse of JFK
Your knowledgeable captain and crew are always ready to answer questions about the sights and history of Newport Harbor and its surrounding areas. From interesting facts to old-time legends, the maritime world of Newport has many great stories to offer.
(One quick note: we will serve a few rounds of beer, wine, and champagne, but it is not an unlimited booze-cruise. We aim to create a relaxing, peaceful, and safe experience for all of our guests.)
