Sunset Sail on the Schooner Adirondack II

activity photo

Enjoy a brisk, invigorating sail along Newport Harbor and Narragansett Bay aboard a smooth sailing vessel with some speediness to boot.

Sunset Fog

My wife and I booked a sunset sail while on vacation. The weather was threatening when we arrived at the dock but we sailed on schedule. When we entered Narragansett Bay, the fog was so thick we could not see beyond the end of the boat. The captain and crew were great and turned what could have been a disappointment into a fun trip. They were energetic and amusing and made us feel like we wee in good hands despite not being able to see the shore. Everyone on the boat got into the act, we all got a little damp but laughed the whole way in and out. Turned out to be a great evening and I'd do it again in a heartbeat, rain or shine.

Sunset cruise without sunset

Enjoyed the cruise in spite of the weather which was foggy so the sunset cruise was more like a foggy cruise. But of course you don't control the weather. What you do control is the ambiance on the boat. I would suggest, that on bad weather days, when there is nothing to see due to the fog and mist, that the captain and crew would entertain the passengers by some prepared informational lecture about either life on the boat, or about the bay and the sea life, how deep is the water, what is fishing like, how you navigate through the fog, well, you get the picture. Instead of just letting the passengers sit there and entertain each other. Not a critique, but take it as constructive criticism. Your crew is great though, and it was interesting to see how the sails were hoisted up and down. An explanation of the different sails would have been interesting as well. Thank you.

We had a lovely sail just before sunset. The crew was very professional and made all the guests feel comfortable. They were very knowledgeable about the boat, and shared lots of information about the area around the bay. We highly recommend this adventure!

Purchased tickets in advance to celebrate birthday with five family members. Lovely evening..Sailboat was very nice. The crew members were very knowledgeable and friendly. $1 for any drink was quite the bargain. Nothing more beautiful than to be on the ocean at sunset. Would thoroughly recommend to anyone.

We took the sunset sail around Naragansett Bay and loved every second of it. The captain and crew were friendly, knowledgeable, and fun. This was one of the best things we did on our trip to Newport. I highly recommend it!!

Great sunset cruise! It was a lovely evening, blankets were provided, drinks were $1. The crew was very quiet and at times you felt like you were all alone on the boat. The crew was very responsible and I had full confidence in their abilities. I highly recommend the Adirondack II and would do it again!
