My husband and I were celebrating our 31st wedding anniversary and decided to take the sunset cruise. It could not have been a more perfect evening. We had an awesome boat ride, saw a beautiful sunset and enjoyed talking with the captain. Extremely pleasant man with some fascinating stories. We enjoyed the ride very much and wound up taking it out again before we left Newport. Would highly recommend it!!

The sunset cruise on the Adirondack II was a great experience. The captain and crew were terrific and friendly. The drinks were great and the harbor and sunset views were well worth the trip. If you are in newport you have to set sail on the Adirondack II!

Even though it drizzled and it was dark and cloudy, the sail was incredible! My husband and I had a ton of fun! The schooner was cruising pretty swiftly and the feel of the wind blowing in your hair was refreshing! Despite some rough waters, I never experienced any sea sickness. Also, the crew was VERY friendly and personable. My only regret is that I didn't book this sail a few more times during the week! I would definitely do it again.

This is something you can do with the kids and have an enjoyable time, but I would recommend couples, because it's so peaceful and relaxing and you get a chance to enjoy each others company in a wonderful setting. The mimosa sailing is perfert way to start a day!

I am a professional commercial mariner and have been on the water for almost 50 years. I hold a Coast Guard " Master Of Towing" license and operate tugs in heavy marine construction projects. This sail on the Adirondack II was one of the best experiences that I've ever had on the water. The Captain and crew were topnotch and my wife and I have already talked about doing another with friends before the season ends. I have never seen such teamwork and as a Captain myself I can appreciate this at a different level than your average customer. We will be back, keep up the good work !!!!

My wife and I did the Sunset sail on Sunday, September 5, 2010. We made the reservations over the internet after hearing about it from friends who highly recommended it. We were NOT disappointed. We arrived 20 minutes early, boarded about 10 minutes before departing and were given all the info about the sail, safety precautions and especially the $1 drinks! The sail boat departed on time and it was an extremely delightful 1 1/2 hours. The crew was great and the drinks were 1st class - no cheap, off the wall beers, wine , etc. The whole sail was wonderful and I would highly recommend it.

We have been aboard the Adiriondack II several times now, and we still believe it is the best deal in town. Newport is a wonderful place to visit, and a sail on this boat makes it even more special. The crew and captain have always, without fail, been friendly, helpful, engaging, funny, knowledgeable and professional. The cruise is very informative as well as fun, and it's a great way to see some of the land sights of Newport from the ocean (there are several beautiful homes and structures that you can't see very well at all from land, as they are usually gated). To top it off, the $1 drinks are delicious, generous, and plentiful. We would give this six stars if we could! A GREAT time...

Living in New England truly is a dream! We have it all, and this summer, I treated myself and family to a schooner cruise, something we had never done! Why not?? It was an amazing day, the crew was perfect! And we enjoyed every gorgeous second. Can't wait for our next trip! Thank you for a day my family will never forget- and for introducing us to our summer coctail- the dark and stormy! ~Karen Runyon

this was our first trip to Newport & our first time on a sailboat! We will be back again!

My wife and I enjoyed the cruise very much. The crew was very helpful and informative. The cruise was not too long.

I had never been on a sailboat before, and I guess I was not prepared for the way the boat leaned depending upon the direction of the wind. Needless to say, it was an experience! I am not much of an outdoorsy kind of girl, but it really was a nice sail. The scenery was beautiful, the crew was friendly and hospitable, and the drinks were only $1! They recommend wearing comfortable clothes and shoes, and they do this for a reason! It is definitely not the kind of activity you need to dress up for--it's way too windy for a skirt or dress! Overall, it was a really nice evening.

Upon arrival, we were pleased to see that the Adirondack II was as beautiful and well-maintained as advertised. The crew was experienced and friendly. They gave a narrative of some of the history of the Harbor and surrounding sights without going over the top and taking over all private conversation. The cruise was fairly short - only about 1 1/2 hours and only covered a small area. It would have been nice to have been able to travel more quickly under full sail, or further, but on a busy weekend in Newport Harbor, you get what you get. Best part is that all the while enjoying the spectacular views and fresh salt air, you can enjoy cocktails (beer and wine and not no-name brands either) or soft drinks for only $1 each!!! I dare you to find that anywhere else in Newport- you won't! Looking forward to coming back for the sunset sail with Champagne!
