Great Family Activity

We went for a 1 1/2 hour daytime sail on the Schooner Adirondack II. We have three boys - ages 8, 6 & 3. My husband has done a lot of sailing in the past and wanted to introduce our boys to sailing. We all enjoyed it very much. It was great taking in all of the sights, including mansions in the distance. The crew was very professional and informative. They also joked with us and and made it a fun trip. Bottled water was included and tasted great in the hot sun. We would do it again if we were visiting Newport.

I would and have recommended this to many friends. I will book another evening on the Adirondack II before summers end. Crew is extremely friendly and answered many questions while aboard.

Romantic and wonderful evening!

We were lucky enough to have superb weather, but the crew is a large part of what made the experience so enjoyable. They went out of their way to make sure everyone was comfortable (blankets were offerred to make sure we were all warm enough - it gets chilly on the water when the sun goes down) and were just very, very nice people. We followed the suggestion when booking and brought along our own "clambake" from the restaurant next door (The Landing - at a crew member's suggestion). We ate a scrumptious dinner (I think everyone else was jealous) while we drank champagne and wine. The captain briefed us on some local history and the surroundings during the trip and was very conversational. My wife wanted to purchase a long sleeved t-shirt, but they didn't have one in her size. We found out later that they carried several on the boat - so ask while your on the cruise! I highly recommend the experience! Great evening!

Enjoyed the beautiful sunset sail.

The crew was very friendly and attentive to their guests. The captain gave some interesting historical facts. Though sometimes it was hard to hear her over the guests who were talking loudly. The weather was perfect and the sunset was beautiful. Very much worth the price.

A Fun Summer in one Day

The Adirondack II is a trim schooner that cuts through the waves in a thrilling ride. As we heeled I dipped my fingers in the sea spray. I was having the most fun of anything we did this summer. The crew was capable, helpful and unobtrusive. A few highlights were mentioned but not a narration. I liked the quiet.

Great way to end the day!

The sunset sail was a relaxing and fun time. The crew was friendly, the view was spectacular, and the drinks were cold and inexpensive. It was a perfect activity to do after a day at the beach and before a dinner on the waterfront in downtown Newport. I would certainly book the sunset cruise again and highly recommend it.

This is a great tour you don't want to miss. A schooner brings back all the romance of sailing.

Fun trip.

My wife and I enjoyed the trip. Not much wind, a little cloudy, but the weather was out of our hands. The sail was fun, very educational, very friendly staff and captain. Thank you again for a wonderful time. My only wish is that a sail boat trip was available to permit a sail around the island to the Gilded Age mansions on the other side of the island (Bellevue Ave. mansions), but it appears that the sail tours all stay inside the harbor and bay. It would be neat if there could be a mansion tour sail to see the mansions near Easton Beach. Thanks.

Perfect afternoon getaway!

I brought my two teenage daughters with me on this trip. They both enjoyed the sail around the harbor. The crew was enthusiastic, hardworking and professional. The captain gave us a commentary about the highlights of Newport including interesting facts. He was very informative without droning on. The sail is relaxing and the crew could not have been nicer. They asked about where we are from and if we enjoy sailing etc. The weather was ideal, sunny, high 70's and the 1 pm time is perfect, the wind had picked up just enough to make the ride smooth and easy. As everyone else mentioned, the $1 beer, wine & soda is a hit. The boat was clean and it left the dock on time as well as returned on time. I was very pleased with our experience and would recommend it to anyone especially beginners.
