I took my girlriend out on her 47th birthday, and she hasn't stopped talking about the amazing time she had. I don't remember the Captains name but being a sailor myself I have to comment on his knowledge of the water and more specifically the bay. The crew was very helpul and courteous, they also were very polite with their conversations. I was already planning my next sail before I was off the boat. |

My husband and I have taken cruises on the Adirondack several times and we have always enjoyed them. The sunset cruise is especially nice and the prices for beverages are extremely reasonable!
The captain was knowledgeable, and told his stories with a sense of humor! He pointed out the important landmarks, but let the guests take in the sights without constant commentary. He was excellent!
I would thoroughly recommend the trip, both the afternoon excursions or sunset. We'll be back! |

The staff was excellent. The captain gave good descriptions of the scenery. The workers (all girls) were friendly and hard working. They talked to you individually and came around frequently enough to keep a drink in your hand which were really inexpensive. Overall it was a great experience but definitely felt like a short ride both time-wise and distance. |

The sail on the schooner was skippered by a knowledgable fellow who could point out all the interesting and historical sites we saw during the voyage. It took one hour and a half. The crew was very attentive. They provided water, beer and wine and the latter two were only one dollar! Where can you find such a bargain? I would recommend the sail to everyone who visits Newport. |

I can't say enough about the Schooner Adirondack II - Dark and Stormy Sail. My husband and I were in Newport for the weekend last weekend with our two teenage sons. We all loved the schooner sail. The Captain and his entire crew were very enthusiastic, friendly, and knowledgable of the area. The captain navigated and let any one who wanted have a 'try at the wheel' - He provided an excellent narration of the Harbor and the sites we were sailing by. His staff was so friendly and accomodating, making sure everyone who wanted one had their drink of choice in hand, water, soda, beer, wine or Dark & Stormy (outstanding!) The staff went out of their way to be sure everyone was comfortable. We had a couple chilly moments and the staff brought out armful after armful of comfy warm blankets for anyone who wanted one. It was a great experience, I would highly recommend that you take a couple of hours and enjoy the cruise it was worth it :-) |

nice crew, dissappointed that the "dark and stormy" cocktail was not a stiff drink! : (
learned that after 2...
so foggy that we wasted our time since we couldn't see anything.
they should have cancelled the tour since they knew and we could have caught it in the morning the following day.
nice boat, nice crew, but terrible weather. |

Occasionally my husband and I plan day trip dates as welcome reprieves from hectic schedules when a vacation isn't a possibility. The Morning Mimosa sail proved to be the perfect start to a day spent in Newport. This 90 minute sail was relaxing and refreshing, taking in famous Newport landmarks and points of interest as indicated by our delightful and humorous captain. Service aboard the Mimosa Morning Sail was pleasantly provided by a friendly crew who make great Mimosas for only one dollar each. I would recommend this most pleasant excursion for those visiting Newport for the first time as well as native Rhode Islanders as it is a most enjoyable way to see Newport from the water. |

We were a group of 5 (two couples and a buddy), and we had such an amazing time! We girls wanted to immediately buy tickets for another sail right after we came back into the harbor. The ship is spacious and gorgeous, the crew is fabulous (always made sure we had the drinks we needed), and you cannot beat the $1 drinks!
It was great to just be sailing in a beautiful harbor on a sunny day, with friends, drinking some wine and beer. There was no loud speaker with historical facts/sights, etc...we just completely relaxed and chatted as if we were on the ship alone!
It really was a can't miss activity for our group, and we hope to make Newport and the Adirondack II a yearly excursion! |
