Loved it!! Very Friendly crew..

The boat ride was a suprise for my significant other and we both felt it was very relaxing. We took the sunset sail and the weather was perfect. It does get a little chilly on the water but the staff provided fleece blankets to anyone who wanted them. My significant other and I enjoyed the beautiful sceenery while we cuddled and sipped on the 'Dark & Stormy' which was one of the drink specials. Very tastey!

Adirondack II afternoon cruise highly recommended

Took cruise on Adirondack II with 2 boys, aged 9 and 11. The captain and crew were friendly, accommodating and kind. Captain and crew were knowledgeable about area and willingly shared all they knew. Captain interacted well with boys and gave them a lot of information about boats and sailing. They even got to steer! The 9 year old even wants to begin sailing lessons! The crew certainly took notice of all passengers and made every attempt to keep all engaged, comfortable and happy! If you want to cruise the harbor-consider the Adirondack II.

My wife and I found the tour thoroughly wonderful. The crew ensured our comfort and shared the knowledge and history of the area and sailing in a fun, informative, and casual way. We had a beautiful day and could not have asked for more. It more than exceeded our expectations.

We rescheduled our ride due to predicted bad weather with ease. Our sunset sail was very nice, perfect in fact. The crew was very helpful and hospitable. We enjoyed it and look forward to repeating the experience.

Even when raining, we had a great time!

I highly recommend this trip. My Mother (age 72) and my aunts (ages 71 and 66) recently visited from IL and this was their first trip on a sail boat. They absolutely loved it and have been raving about the trip ever since. The weather didn't cooperate (we had light rain) but it didn't dampen our fun. The crew could not have been nicer and were a wealth of knowledge about the area. My Mom and Aunts asked lots of questions, and the crew seemed delighted to have the interaction with their guests. The crew was also well prepared for the rain with complementary rain slickers for each of us. I was a little concerned if this trip would be appropriate for an elderly person but it worked out very well and a great trip for all ages.

Trip was OK.

Trip was a little pricey for what we got. Would have been much nicer had we sailed a little more that just zig-zagging around the bay, maybe going under the bridge, or to the mouth of the ocean..

Awesome Experience

The Sunset Cruise provided by the Adirondack II left nothing to be desired. From a friendly crew and skipper to a beautiful August sunset in a gorgeous seaport, an experience not soon to be forgotten. The cost of the sail was extremely reasonable, and the charge for the drinks brought me back 35 years! If a memorable sail cruise is what you are looking for, then your search can stop here!

Relaxing and Zen-like

Was given these tickets as a gift from coworkers and enjoyed it tremendously. The weather was perfect, not even a light jacket was needed. As soon as the sails went up and we quietly glided along the shore line with the sun just getting ready to set, I could feel my blood pressure drop 30 degrees. It was an hour and a half of peaceful bliss. The crowd was pleasant and interacted with each other amicably. We were seated beside a couple who had just gotten married that day and across from a young couple from Austraila. I could have stayed there for hours. We'll definitely do this again when we return to Newport.

Our 18Th Anniversary
Sun, Aug 23, 09   7:00 PM davecheryl Unspecified Unspecified Local Couple on a Date
It was our 18Th Wedding Anniversary we where celebrating and my wife said she would like to go out sailing and stated she wanted to do a sunset sail. I found your ad on the the Internet and checked it out and looked at a few more in the Newport R.I. area and you took the grade. We had a great time on our Sunset Sail on the Adirondack II it was great and you could see the crew enjoyed there jobs and they had a lot of knowledge about the area and the land scape of the area. We have already told friend about going on a sunset sail on the Adirondack II and how we enjoyed ourselves and plan to Sail again with you. Thank You for a Great Sail D & C Ellis

Great Crew!

Unfortunately for us we set sail into the fog for a 'sunset' cruise. Thanks in part to hurricane Bill. Certainly, no fault to the captain and crew, who were both cordial and enthusiastic in describing the attributes of the sailing vessel, and the 'secrets' of using wind power to navigate the oceans of the world. We were offered a 'discount' , if we wanted to 'try' again, when the weather got better. However, the weather really didn't change very much in our weekend getaway. Both my wife and I would certainly make this a 're-do' on our next Newport adventure. Beautiful schooner!

Foggy but still fun

Despite the VERY thick fog that prevented any site-seeing, we still had a blast on this cruise. Skipper Mike and his crew were friendly and very entertaining.

Best part of out trip!
Tue, Aug 18, 09   3:00 PM mattverde Male 30-39 Local Family Without Children
My wife and I took the 3pm tour on a sweltering day (it was 15 degrees cooler on the water). Our sail on the Schooner Adirondack II was hands-down the best part of our trip! Neither of us had been sailing before, and the 1.5 hour tour gave us both the sailing bug. There was some good wind on the water which made for a fun, zippy sail--but not at all rough. We both got the chance to steer the boat which is a must if you get the chance. We only had about 15-20 people on our sail so several of us got the chance. The captain and crew were all extremely friendly, funny and knowledgeable. You could tell that they all loved what they did. Not only is a sail on the Adirondack II a must-do when in Newport, you will also find it a best-buy.
