We sailed the coast of Maine for 15 years but now we are retired and living in SC. It was a pleasant visit back to the coastal waters of the east coast and we took that opportunity to take a ride on a nice day with one of our grandchildren. We all had a nice time.We particularly enjoyed the conversations with members of the crew. Thanks. Jon and Mary Davis

A Great Sail!

We thoroughly enjoyed our sail on the Schooner Pride. It was relaxing, yet invigorating. We were able to view many of the landmarks that we've become familiar with from the perspective that early settlers, invading sailors, and present-day ships see as they approach this historic port. The mates were helpful and gave us useful information. But, were never overbearing. The trip was just under 2 hours, which was perfect for us, as it did not take up an entire day of our short vacation. It was easy to get tickets online, and easy to find, board and enjoy!

Nice weather for sailing. Crew was very friendly and answered all questions. Smooth ride and enjoyed seeing the dolphins. Would do this again.

This is a great way to experience what the early settlers of this region felt, sailing into this harbor.

The experience was wonderful for both my husband and myself. We sailed in the early afternoon on a very clear and slightly windy day. Though we took light jackets, we only needed caps to keep the sun out of our eyes. And we also used a fair amount of sunblock. Other than those self-help concepts, the sail went without a hitch. The crew was cordial; offering drinks and a light snack at the beginning of the sail and several times during. Though the crew was knowledgeable about the schooner and all her parts and manuevers, I did feel that their knowledge of the town was not up to par. We had been on a very thorough carriage ride earlier and our guide had been a native of Charleston working on a degree in history, so we were pretty informed about some things in Charleston. In conversation with another passenger, I mentioned some of the information we had learned and one of the "mates" disagreed and misinformed those passengers, telling them something different . It was quite embarrassing and frustrating. But all things considered, it was an excellent experience and I would recommmend to anyone who is tired of the hustle and bustle of the tourist's "traps" and want to relax, put your feet up, have a drink, and enjoy the BEAUTIFUL water sights Charleston has to offer on the PRIDE. This is definitely NOT a tourist's trap and worth every penny! Enjoy!

Nice Sail, Little Info

On our girl's weekend in Charleston (7 of us total) we spent a beautiful, sunny afternoon on the Shooner Price sailing around Charleston harbor. The boat was nice enough and we bought some refreshments (took a little bag of snacks with us), just sailing around the harbor was great...but I would NOT consider this an informational tour. We had never been to Charleston before, and I'm not sure we learned anything about it/history from this excursion. If you asked the crew a question about a fort, area of land, etc. they were knowledgeable...but nothing was just offered up as fun fact to know, or even what we were sailing towards.

This was a great 2 hours - we loved it!! The only disappointment was we didn't go out very far into the water way. Was hoping to go out at least almost to the ocean edge.
