Couple on a Date |
My husband and I had a great time on the afternoon cruise. We were a bit warm, but the breeze was great. The crew was efficient and friendly. The boat was not full, and we had room to move about. We were encouraged to help, but did not have to pitch in. It was relaxing. Easy to get to know the others on board. The seats were very hard and I recommend a cushion if you yourself don't have much padding! It was really too hot to appreciate a glass of wine, so thankfully the bottled water was cold!We will plan to go again when we can take the sunset cruise. This is a dramatic way to impress your date. My husband loved being surprized for his birthday. If you have already been to Charleston, then next time you should try this.!

My group and I had a wonderful time on the schooner. The crew was attentive and friendly. The only thing that we would have like was some short narration about the sites that we were passing.

The daytime trip on the Schooner Pride is a lovely sail through the Charleston Harbor. The boat cruises around several historical sites, lovely beach homes, famous islands and an array of sea life, including dolphins. The website that recommended this activity referred to it as a harbor tour. The title of "tour" is slightly misleading. Our family group of six thought that we were on a guided tour of the harbor, particularly since the website specifically mentions several historical sites that we wanted to see. To our surprise, there is no "guidance" on the tour. However, one of the mates kindly offered a brief historical narrative and pointed out a few locations so that our time would not be completely bereft of educational value. The "tour" would benefit from a spoken or even written guide. I would gladly pay an extra five dollars to have someone point out the buildings and sites and give some framework to the land/sea scape. However, even without the guide, it makes for an absolutely wonderful event.

This was our 6th trip on the Schooner Pride. The weather was extremely hot but there was a terrific breeze in the harbour. We have sailed on the evening cruise before and on the day cruise. The captain and crew were most helpful and had a good knowledge of the area. Passengers were invited to assist the crew in handling the sails. Beverages are available on board and include beer, wine and water at a nominal price. As advertised the tour left on time and lasted the full two hours. I highly recommend either day time or evening cruises. Our experience has always been delightfull. We always include a harbour tour on the "Pride" as part of our Charleston experience.

Enjoyed the sailing, but the ride was long, hot, and boring. Hot can be dealt with because of the weather, but there was nothing else going on. The crew didn't give us any history or info on the city or the harbor. Capt. Terry was knowledgeable, and his crew was friendly (Angela and another younger male). I will still reccommend the trip--just hope that it will offer more excitement. Thanks a lot!

My nephew and I volunteered to raise the main sail, then sat back and enjoyed the ride!!! He loved the "hands on" experience. I loved the "relaxing" atmosphere and made me want to go out and by a sailboat.
