The crew was excellent! They were courteous, helpful and friendly. The trip was peaceful and beautiful even though we were unable to find a wind in the harbor. We enjoyed the experience very much. |

We are in our 70's and took our visiting 34 year old son on this sailing trip. We all had a great time. We happened to do the trip when the tall ships were in town and that was special to see them in the harbor. |

I am not sure if it was because it was hot and everyone was lethargic but I expected more from trip. Basically we dieseled up to a point on the water and then sailed back until it slowed to diesel the rest of the way in. If no wind--and it happens the crew said---you bake until they can't take anymore and diesel back in.
We didn't get close to any landmark like the Yorktown or the forts---no history lessons. The crew was nice and would answer questions but unless you knew what to ask. That is why I went---to be informed and sail. Also in the heat----no shade and you sat on hard wooden boxes---no seats. You could go down where bathrooms were but no view and it was like an oven because no A/C.
Ship is not historical, built in 1988 and made of steel. It was nice sailing though. All captain did is give the safety lecture and then commanded the crew. No insights, no commentary. Maybe they do more in the cooler times but I doubt it.
I spent far less on the trip to Ft Sumter and it was far longer, cooler because of canopy or if you wanted to go below---A/C and a view. Plus you got to get off and see Fort and lots of history told by crew of boat and at the fort. Plus $10 less per person. Unless you have a yearning to sail---I would pass on this trip. |

The sail was handled very professionally. The day we (my granddaughter & I) went the ship was not crowded and everyone appeared comfortable. One of the crew pointed out some sights which were interesting, an added feature. I am sure it helped that there was a slight breeze blowing and a beautiful day. |

A pleasant afternoon on Charleston Harbor

It was a very pleasant, relaxing experience on a hot, humid Charleston afternoon. My party could have sailed on for a few more hours outside the harbor since a lot of the time is spent setting sail and returning to port. For those who have never sailed it was probably perfect; for those of us who have sailed and owned sailboats, we enjoyed not having to do the "work." The captain and crew were friendly and efficient, and attentive to questions asked regarding the surrounding coastline.
We would recommend this tour above any harbor tour on a motorized vessel! |

We had a great time. Weather was perfect! After 2 days of traveling, this was so relaxing. The crew were very helpful and friendly. Our group consisted of my husband and I, our 31 year old daughter and 30 year old son. We all raved about the the excursion all day. Thanks for a fantastic tour! |

I understand that there was nothing you could do about the wind not blowing. But there was a corporate group on board that was having a "rah-rah" meeting. I am retired and have no need to attend this type of meeting anymore, in fact I am particularly GLAD that I don't have to attend them anymore. It was very distracting from the lovely ride. I believe that these corporate outings should be required to charter separately from the other passengers. Or at least let the other passengers know beforehand that there will be a corporate group attending. I feel that they distracted from my enjoyment of the trip. |

The weather was great, the crew was fantastic. I had never been on a ship like that and I will gladly do it again. It was quiet and just a pure pleasure. |

I came to Charleston to attend the final round of the PGA championship but the afternoon sail far exceeded the experience of attending the PGA championship and I highly recommend the cruise. |
