| This sail was probably not the best choice for my husband and myself.
We probably should have chosen a narrated tour, since this was our first time to Charleston. Although the crew was very knowledgeable, we felt as though we were asking too many questions as to what we were seeing. |

| While the captain made it clear it was not a narrated tour, we expected some information about some landmark and charleston history. The captain barely spoke for 2-3 minutes, seemed really rude when answering questions asked and was uninterested.
The couple of helpers were very polite.
Waste of time. |

| If you simply want to chill out & take in the beauty that is Charleston and its harbour, the Schooner Pride is the zen ticket. This is the 2nd time I had the pleasure of cruising on the ship...the 1st was with my mom in 2005 & the experience once again did not disappoint. The crew is friendly, professional, knowledgeable & laid-back, which makes the experience quite different than some of the more commercial elements of Charleston. No "blah-blah-blah" (not that there is anything wrong with that, if that's what you like). Just the simple splendor of the great outdoors & fine folk who are there to help you enjoy. As we glided across the Charleston Harbour, it was pure bliss...much like living in this charming city, enjoying what it has to offer, but having someone do the "heavy lifitng" for you. My traveling companion/BFF has some problems with sea sickness & I booked the cruise hoping she would enjoy -- she took an over-the-counter drug...and was in HEAVEN. I have taken the day cruise both times. When I travel to Charleston next, the sunset cruise is DEFINITELY on the agenda. I felt badly for the folks who were on the big ferry boats we saw as we traversed the harbor--we were experiencing the REAL DEAL. Sighhhhh. TRY THIS. It's lovely. NOTE: It's a serious hike from Market Street to the ship's location between the Aquarium & the IMAX Theater, so plan ahead and book a pedi-cab. FUn from beginning to end. Ahoy, mates! |

| Beautiful ship, great sail, crew was nice and courteous. It was nice just sitting back and enjoying the view of the harbor. The weather was great and the dolphins were playful. One came within a foot or so of the ship. An all around great time. |

Enjoyable enough; nothing special though.

| I highly recommend this activity. The boat wasn't at fully capacity, so we had plenty of room to stretch out. The crew was very nice and were locals, so they knew the area well. This is not a guided tour, but whenever the crew is not actually working the boat, they are willing to talk about the area from history to dining recommendations.
I wish there had been more wind as we motored for about a third of the trip, but that is certainly not the Pride's fault! Make sure to bring a jacket, as it can get chilly on the bay. |

| We rode the Schooner Pride 4 years ago with German business associates and felt that the Pride was in better shape then. This time we noticed alot of flaking paint and felt it was not in ship shape condition overall. Another schooner happened to be in the vicinity and it looked so crisp and awesome. The Pride looked a bit tired/worn out.
Also the crew were not as interactive and informative this time - more on the quiet side. It would have made the trip more interesting if they interacted more with the passengers and given us information about the different sites. We didn't need a running commentary, but highights would have been welcome.
4 years ago they even encouraged passengers to help out at the helm if they so desired.
Last time they sailed along the homes of Battery Park which provided a great overview of the residential area from the water - but again, not this time. However, last week the wind was stronger ,so in fairness, a bit more time was needed to handle the sails. This did make for a more exciting sail, but definitely not an informative one. We had to seek out a crew member if we had a question. (and were encouraged to do so during the orientation) , but without input from them, we didn't have any information about which to ask quesitons. For the first time visitors to Charleston we had with us. this was not a good way to learn more about Charleston.
This can add a wonderful dimension to any visit to Charleston - but I would encourage them to keep up the high standards that we have experienced in the past.

| My wife picked this activity for the day. It's best not to argue! The temp. was in the 70's, the sky was blue, the wind was 10 knots. You can purchase beer or wine on the boat! How can you go wrong. We sailed around the harbor and had a great time. We talked with people we would never had met. The crew and captain were great . Why not spend some time on the water and get a whole new view of Charleston. |

| Sailing on the Schooner Pride is the way to go. It was a very relaxing way to tour Charleston Harbor. The crew was friendly ,heipful and informative . I highly recommend it. It's worth every penny of the cost. Our next time in Charleston we hope to take the sunset sailing.
