Very relaxing!

What a wonderful way to relax! We went on Aug 31, not only a full moon but a blue moon! Beautiful breezes, clear night, so peaceful and relaxing. Or at least it would have been if a group of 4 inconsiderate people on board hadn't drank to excess and got louder and louder and more obnoxious as the night went on, but that's not the Schooner Pride's fault. We would recommend this trip to anyone!

review of 8/31 moonlight cruise

This is the 5th time my wife and i have sailed with the Schooner crew. This is a fantastic adventure that is very relaxing. We actually for the last few years scheduled our vacation to ensure we have a full moon to participate in this adventure. The crew is great and make you feel at home. They made such an impression that i actually rmembered most from last year. Not much wind on this sail but was still very enjoyable. Current plan is to include this in next years visit as well. I think my only negative comment was the entertainment. You have a full moon, a beautiful harbor, and a fantastic crew. For this cruise i do not think entertaiment is needed although i would have to say a soft mellow jazz sound would add to the experience. Hats off to the crew for an incredible experience. Our favorite adventure in Charleston. Highly recommended.

This was a fantastic evening. The crew was fantastic. Was not the best night for sailing as the wind died but the crew still made the evening incredible. At one point the captain even brought out the ukulele and sang. True, he was not the best singer but it made the cruise even more unforgettable. This is what vacations are meant for, relaxing , having fun and forgetting reality for a wonderful couple of hours. This trip was more than expected and if prompted with questions the crew was quick to sit down , chat and answer any and all questions. Our first mate was a delightful young lady who had cruised for several years and was a true jewel and a definite asset to our adventure and the city of Charleston. I would highly recommend this adventure to anyone who wants and needs to relax in a great environment with a wonderful crew. pros: awesome for relaxing. cons: too short. My wife and I were visiting for 6 days and this was definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Charleston. Relax and enjoy an incredible evening when stepping on board. This is a true example of southern hospitality. Will plan next trip to Charleston around full moon to relive this experience.

Not much of a sail

Most time was spent under power. Boat's not big enough to accommodate all the people on it, so you can't really walk around much. Mostly just have to sit on deck in one spot, so depending on how the person next to you is you can have a fun or not so fun time.

No Seating

The boat was beautiful, the crew knowledgeable, friendly and courteous, the night was gorgeous, the moon full. THE BOAT HAS NO SEATS. You get to sit where ever you can, on whatever you can and even then there were not enough places to sit for everyone, over-crowded. Thanks, but never again without good, comfortable seating.

Smooth Sailing

The crew was great. They put up the sails about 30 minutes into the cruise so the group could see how it is done. They were extremely i.hnformative and answered any questions the tour group had. Beer and wine was served at a reasonable $4 per each. The crew was very sociable with the tour group and if you are a social drinker and sometimes a smoker, you will love this 2 hour sail down the river, into the bay and back. It was a cloudy night yet the full moon came out long enough to light up the waters and cast moonshadows on the boat. Great for pictures. You will love this cruise.

Relaxing and romantic

We had a lovely time on the moonlight cruise. The Captain looked as if he's sailed the seven seas (and he really has, though not under sail), and the crew were efficient and helpful. The entertainment was a couple of young people playing guitar and ukelele and singing appropriately mellow songs. Of course the "blue" moon was the highlight of the night and it didn't disappoint.

Romantic moonlit sailing under the stars

My husband and I have enjoyed sailing with the Schooner Pride for many years. It's a must when we have company, but actually we just use this as an excuse to enjoy a sail on the Pride any time of day. Under the stars, watching the moon rise with champagne in hand and the warm wind blowing against your face is very romantic. The sails were full, and uninterrupted by the sounds and smell of a motor, we quietly scooted along enjoying the lights of the homes on the Battery, the beautiful Ravenel Bridge and the other boaters. We highly recommend this outing to all - local or visitors.
