I took my adult daughter on a birthday weekend to Charleston and this was something she really wanted to do. This is money WELL spent. We went on the sunset cruise that left around 8:30pm. It was such a good experience I plan to take my husband back next Spring. The moon was rising on the harbor and it was beautiful. The "skipper" and his crew were very informative and customer service oriented. On the sunset cruise they served two complimentary beverages per person which was a nice touch. (alcohol/water/sodas; whatever you wanted) There was also a guitarist the sang while they had the sails up and we were just sailing along in the harbor. I highly recommend this trip. |

We had a lovely time on the moonlight cruise. The Captain looked as if he's sailed the seven seas (and he really has, though not under sail), and the crew were efficient and helpful. The entertainment was a couple of young people playing guitar and ukelele and singing appropriately mellow songs. Of course the "blue" moon was the highlight of the night and it didn't disappoint. |

My husband and I have enjoyed sailing with the Schooner Pride for many years. It's a must when we have company, but actually we just use this as an excuse to enjoy a sail on the Pride any time of day.
Under the stars, watching the moon rise with champagne in hand and the warm wind blowing against your face is very romantic. The sails were full, and uninterrupted by the sounds and smell of a motor, we quietly scooted along enjoying the lights of the homes on the Battery, the beautiful Ravenel Bridge and the other boaters.
We highly recommend this outing to all - local or visitors. |

I purchased tickets as a surprise for my husband who had always expressed an interest in going on a moon light sail on this boat. I thought the full moon the other evening was the perfect opportunity, but the ride was not at all what I expected. We were disappointed in many things, but first was the fact that the captain seemed to have had too many that day! His speech was slurred which made understanding where we were sailing and what we would be doing difficult, and he stumbled (a lot) when walking, and we had not even left the pier. The two drinks we were promised as part of our ticket price was a joke. When someone finally got around to asking us if we would like something, I thought a nice glass of wine would be a romantic touch to our evening, however the wine tasted like it had turned to vinegar, and I was only able to take a few sips. For our second beverage, it was all I could do to sip on water after the wine was so bad, and my husband chose to have a beer. The beer was, in his words, "skunkie"! Having spent $47.00 per ticket I feel we did not get our money's worth. The "sail" boat used it's motor to get out to the middle of the harbour. They put up the sails, after much difficulty, and drifted around for a while, and then "drove" back to shore. With all the wonderful things there are to do in the Charleston area this to me is a rip off. We have lived here for 8 years now and have done many less expensive, and more enjoyable things. I tried to be spontanious and plan what I felt would be a romantic evening with my husband of 32 years, and I feel the money spent could have been better used on a nice dinner and a stroll along the battery! Tourists beware, it is not all they make it out to be in the advertising. |

Most time was spent under power. Boat's not big enough to accommodate all the people on it, so you can't really walk around much. Mostly just have to sit on deck in one spot, so depending on how the person next to you is you can have a fun or not so fun time. |
