Sunset Sail

This was our second sail on the 'Pride'. We enjoyed the one a couple of years ago much more than this one. The weather was about the same with a decent wind, but we used more diesel and the Captain was not as personable, this time. We spent the last half hour standing off from the pier while the sails were stored. I stayed neutral on my recommendation to be fair. I'd give it an 'OK', but wouldn't recommend it to someone I knew.

My mother and I took the sunset sail on the Schooner Pride. It was a wonderful experience and a highlight of our trip to Charleston. The captain and crew were great. Our sailboat ride was relaxing and enjoyable. Bring your camera for the many photo opportunities.

BORING!

It was not worth the money. We were never close to any sites and basically stared at freighters the whole time. We went in circles and after seeing the same freighter 4 times we were ready for the trip to be over.

Sunset Cruise -- Amazing Views!!

My husband and I had a wonderful time on the Schooner Pride sunset cruise. The crew was extremely friendly and knowledgable about the sights. The sunset views of Fort Sumter and the Battery were unforgetable! My only complaint would be that the ship was a little overcrowded, so come early for the best seats. Overall, it was an incredible way to enjoy the city and the harbor!

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the 6 to 8 pm Charleston harbor sailing outing. The crew were very friendly and explained things concerning the tour very well. The outing was very relaxing and enjoyable. We told our friends and relatives that we enjoyed the outing and will go again next year.

We pre-bought our tickets the week ahead of time. The weather forcast said chance of showers every day but we figured the best we could do was book with a day to spair incase we could postpone a night if cancelled due to weather. Our first two days in town were drizzly and overcast but we were able to avoid getting serious rain except for on the boat. We got dumped on walking to it hoping it would be cancelled, then it stopped until 15 minutes into the trip for a good half hour rain. The crew was nice enough to hand out ponchos but the soaking was already through all clothing. I appreciated the poncho though because it probably saved our camera from getting damaged. Overall it was very nice, the crew was nice and we enjoyed it. The seating is basically a bench so be prepared for that and not chairs or any great back support.

Cancellation Policy

Be sure you know the weather before booking this trip. I bought these tickets in advance and it was extremely rainy and they did not cancel the sail. They will only cancel with extreme weather conditions such as lightning. I ended up not attending the sail however, I was still charged for this sail. I wouldn't recommend if you are unsure in any way.

The only thing that I wish we had on the sail was someone telling us about what we were seeing - the waterfront place - where the ships used to come in - just some history would have been nice - But I really loved the sail & all the crew was just wonderful and the wine was very tasty.
