Great experience, but trouble scheduling

We had scheduled the 1 pm tour. We decided to walk from our hotel. We walked more than 10 blocks to get there only to discover that our trip had been canceled. There were not enough people scheduled. We rescheduled for the next evening at 5:30. It would have been nice to know ahead of time that there was a possibility of cancellation. After the initial difficulty, we thoroughly enjoyed our trip. Sunset was gorgeous.

The crew and the schooner were great! There was plenty of wind and the temperature was perfect. The sunset was spectacular. Just wish we could have sailed further out than the tip of the peninsula. We tached back and forth from the Cooper River Bridge to Castle Pinckney.

Sunset Sail

This was our second sail on the 'Pride'. We enjoyed the one a couple of years ago much more than this one. The weather was about the same with a decent wind, but we used more diesel and the Captain was not as personable, this time. We spent the last half hour standing off from the pier while the sails were stored. I stayed neutral on my recommendation to be fair. I'd give it an 'OK', but wouldn't recommend it to someone I knew.

Enjoyed this sail - would recommend it

The only thing that I wish we had on the sail was someone telling us about what we were seeing - the waterfront place - where the ships used to come in - just some history would have been nice - But I really loved the sail & all the crew was just wonderful and the wine was very tasty.

Neat Idea

This is a really neat activity that would be much more enjoyable with fewer participants. It was basically standing room only for the entire 2 hours. I'm sure that the number of passengers helps keep the cost down, but I'd be willing to pay more to be able to sit as well as wander around the ship more freely.

Worth the Trip

My wife and I were honeymooning in Charleston and found the sunset cruise on a website while looking for things to enjoy. I had a sense that a leisurely trip around the harbour would be about as pleasant an experience as one could have. The staff was knowledgeble about the boat, area, and sailing. I was also thankful that there was no on-going monolog by the crew about the the sites we were seeing, yet when asked, they were knowledgable and friendlty. The only sounds were the creaking of the rigging, a gentle breeze, waves lapping, and the low murmer of other passengers. It was as pleasant an experience as one can imagine and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet and peaceful experience. It was truly worth the trip.

we were hoping for a sunset sail and a tour of the forts but due to a thunderous stormy evening we missed out. the schooner still set sail for a wet and wild cruise. still we had an adventurous sail.

Sailing was great, but the weather...

Was on board in time. Shortly before we started a thunderstorm broke loose. So we did have some wind, but it was also pouring down. Ponchos didn't help much as they were blown away. The crew was friendly and competent, the tour as such may be pretty nice if undertaken in good weather. We didn't see any sun and consequently we also couldn't observe any sunset. However we had the chance to observe some dolphins alongside the schooner. The vessel is in good shape (I'm an active sailer myself, so I think I can judge that). I would recommend the tour to everybody, given weather is not as bad as it was for us.

Relaxing but no narration

We would have enjoyed this more if there had been even a little bit of narration. There was about 5 minutes narration regarding the sails and safety and that was all. The staff was pleasant just a little too quiet. Definitely not for young children, our boat was at capacity so there is very little moving around and a third of the people were not sitting on benches.
