My husband and I enjoyed the sunset cruise, it was relaxing, and the view was beautiful. The sunset was amazing. The crew was friendly and helpful when we asked questions. The route took us straight to Fort Sumter and back. It would have been nice if the route took us closer to shore so that we could see the architecture from the water, but I'm not sure how much of that can be controlled based on the wind and water depth. Overall though this was a great experience, and we can't wait for our next sail. |

The captian and the crew were informative, pleasent, careful and just a delight. It was very safe and I would recommend it to anyone although those with small children should be prepared to be vigilant. We will definitly take this cruise again when we again in Charleston.
Thanks for the fun.

My daughter is a new Charleston resident and I came to visit for her birthday. We wanted to do something that we had never done before! We got a Tourist guide and we found it! A SUNSET SAIL!
We booked our tickets immediately by phone. So easy. I was anxious, so we got there early. I was a little afraid when I saw the boat and it had started to get cloudy. The ticket office was closed as well as The Aquarium and all the offices in the area. There was no one at the boat yet, so we searched for a rest room! None to be found! That is my only complaint!!! There is not a public rest room after 5.
Anyway, The Schooner Pride Sunset Sail WAS AMAZING! The crew was wonderful. The sail was smooth. The music was great. The whole experience was soooo peaceful and relaxing! It did get cool, but we had blankets. I loved it. And will recommend it to anyone who wants something new to do.
Also, my youngest daughter has a birthday in August and we will be sailing again!
Sincerely,
Dora |

The sunset sail on the Pride schooner was a unique, fun experience. I even helped raise the sails! Wonderful crew. I highly recommend it! |

All I can say is that the Sunset cruise was the highlight of our visit to Charleston. The First Mate aboard the Pride was very knowledgable about Charleston History, and made the cruise educational, as well as, enjoyable. We would definitely do this again if we travel back to Charleston! |

I guess it's not fair to compare something to the way it was more than 10 years ago, but that's the last time I had been on the Pride and it was amazing. Sailed from near Caifornia Dreaming out into the harbor so it seemed like we were much closer to everything and the guide did provide some historical information and pointed out areas of interest to us. In contrast, on this trip, the entire trip out of the harbor (starting near the aquarium) was not only freezing cold (not the Pride's fault) but we motored there -- the whole way out!! (Seems kind of odd given that you've signed up to be on a sail boat -- maybe it's regulation) ... the views going from the aquarium around the harbor and back are full of industrial areas and container ships which are not really what people who want to sail around Charleston are apt to be looking for -- and there was no narrative at all or pointing anything out. All in all I loved the old Pride ride -- the views, the narrative, the SAILING (versus motoring) but this was just OK -- nothing special. Crew was nice, but to get great marks in service in this town you have to be better than nice -- you have to really care about the experience of all your guests, and they're not going to make it on that count. Just seemed a little impersonal and cool compared to the previous times I'd sailed with them, even if it was ages ago ... way back when you could bring your own wine :-) It was perfectly fine but I have to admit I was a little disappointed. |

I had an enjoyable experience, but don't think its worth how much you pay for it. I wish I would have spent the money on something else. |

Our mid-April ride on the schooner was beautiful. The weather was beautiful--clear sky, cool breezes, and a beautiful sunset at the end of our trip. We enjoyed the crew--Max, the dog, was a welcome addition to the helpful and informative human crew. Part of our group was able to help raise the sails and enjoyed this "hands-on" participation. |

The captain and crew were very helpful and attentive. They explained the safety directions well so we understood and did not feel in fear of anything. They asked for volunteers to help set up the sails so the guests can have an opportunity to experience it. The captain and crew were knowledgeable about the history and surroundings. The sunset was a sight to behold.
All in all it was a very pleasant experience and we hope to do it again next time we're in Charleston. |
