We loved our cruise and will do it again. The staff were personable and knowledgable. We listened to the other reviews and arrived a little early for a good spot on the boat, brought snacks with us and dressed warmly. We had a blast!

Lovely weather for a lively sail in the bay. Guests relax on deck; beware there are not comfortable separate seats for you. Great group of sailors serve you drinks if desired. Beware that prices are considerably (avout 20%) more expensive than listed in 2008 AAA guide!

This is the second time I have sailed on the Schooner Pride and it was another wonderful experience. The weather was picture perfect, we had good wind, and the crew was attentive, knowledgeable and fun. I can't imagine taking a motorized vessel after being on the Pride. This is one of my favorite activities in Charleston.

My husband and I enjoyed meeting and talking with the crew and our fellow passengers. It was a very congenial group, and I think everyone on board enjoyed the experience. We sipped wine and relaxed and took in the view, especially the beautiful sunset. We visit Charleston five or six times a year, and we plan to do this again. We have already recommended this excursion to a lot of our friends who visit the Low Country.

worth the money

i would definitely recommend this trip to anyone. the harbor is beautiful and watching the sunset from the water with no sound except the waves hitting the sides of the boat was breathtaking. there were moments where it was so pretty that everyone aboard was totally silent... except for whispers of amazement. Try to plan for a time when the sky is clear, if you can. it is worth the money.

Finally, a wonderful bit of peace in our hectic lives! The sun going down, the soft sounds of the water, the sails billowing above...peace! Now when I need to imagine a peaceful place in my life, I'll reflect back on this calm evening!

Pleasant sail

This was a pleasant sail with my husband and my parents. My husband and I have sailed in several other areas (Camden, ME; Annapolis, MD; Chicago, IL) on replicas and authentic ships and found this cruise to be almost as enjoyable. Other sails have included a snack and beverage, but that precludes bringing a picnic or your own snacks as the Schooner Pride allows which is a nice option. This particular sail was a sunset sail and the sunset was beautiful. There wasn't a lot of wind this evening, so the sail was a bit slow and probably involved a bit more engine than we would have liked. My husband was also a bit disappointed to see a metal mast rather than wood. The sail did not go out around the Battery as I would have liked. It would have been nice to see the water front Charleston homes from the water, but going out further is no doubt required to get the wind. The crew was very nice and informative. They'll answer any questions or will just start sharing historical information which was great. Overall, probably not my favorite sail, but very pleasant and well worth the cost and time spent. A nice evening event that offers a change from just wandering the streets of Charleston.
