Fabulous, Relaxing Sunset Tour
Sun, Aug 21, 11   6:30 PM cheriemoe Female 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Couple on a Date
We had a lovely time on the Sunset Sail. It was relaxing and enjoyable. It was the perfect mix of quietness with the right amount of narrative. The crew was friendly and knowledgable. The passengers that got to help with the sails seemed to have a blast!

We have been on the schooner pride 3 times now and each time is more amazing....... I took my daughters earlierin the year and was suprised when the captian and crew rememberd us this past weekend, that made the sail that much more enjoyable. Sarah was very attentive to everyone on the boat and included the children .... we will sail again for sure

Best single part of our visit

My lady,Ariana, and I are sailors. It was delightful to watch Captain Jeff and his crew of two handle the schooner with its authentically antique rigging so expertly and we were invited to participate in raising the gaff-rigged sails. The sunset cruise was lovely and could not have been a more beautiful way to see Charleston from the water looking as it did to sailors who have plied Charleston Bay for more than 300 years. What a great experience!

Nice Cruise
Thu, Aug 18, 11   6:30 PM meagolfer Male 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Family With Children
We had a nice evening for our cruise and it wasn't hot or muggy. We could have used a little more wind, but we moved along nicely. I did think that we were going to sail around Fort Sumter though, but never made it that far. Overall, the cruise was nice, but could have been nicer if narration and music was supplied. It would have made the cruise more interesting and fun. We have been on a similar cruise on the James River in Norfolk which provides commentary on sites we pass and played music in between. Overall, still enjoyed the cruise and would recommend it.

The Afternoon Dolphin Cruise is highly recommended. Although we only saw a few Dolphins, it was a beautiful outing. A beautiful relaxing experience.

Schooner Pride ROCKS!

We always recommend the sunset cruise. It's the most relaxing thing I can think of. And on this trip, we made new friends! A storm was coming; the skies were dark and the wind was strong. It was a fabulous sail! An exciting sail. As we left the Pride, it was sprinkling, but the bottom dropped out only minutes later. We had a ball! The Captain is cool and the crew (the ladies) were as personable as they were capable sailors. It's our favorite thing to do in Charleston.

Awesome, relaxing cruise for tourists & locals

This was an awesome tour of the Charleston harbor. I am local, but I took family visiting on this and we ALL loved it. The tour is not narrorated, which was probably the best part. You are waited on and served cold beer and wine, or water if you prefer! The 2 hours was perfect timing. I plan on taking this cruise every now and then since I am a local, just as a fun activity to do. It was awesome!

Thoroughly Relaxing
Fri, Aug 12, 11   9:00 PM oceangal153 Female 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Couple on a Date
My husband and I chose to just sit on deck and enjoy the moonlight, warm weather, light breezes, and calm seas. Our reverie was further complimented by the strumming of a guitar played by the on board entertainer. We had 2 glasses of complimentary wine to sip and had some light snacks we brought with us. This is definitely something adults would appreciate far more than children. The late night sail (beginning at 9 p.m.) was two hours, and there wasn't much to do other than relax and and enjoy the venue, which was our goal. We liked it so much, we hope to do this again soon. Next time, we'll bring cushions/blankets to sit on. This activity was well worth the money!

Repeat Sailors!!!

Every year for David's birthday, I fly down from NY and we both drive up from Aiken for the sail. We have always been pleased with the cruise, the friendliness of the crew, and the price is reasonable (and we use a discount coupon so it's ideal).

Sunset Sail
Wed, Aug 10, 11   6:30 PM rlbarnes53 Male 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Individual
Our Sunset Sail was enjoyable. We had never been on a sailing vessel before and our experience was a pleasant one. The crew was funny, polite and helpful. It was unfortunate that it was an extremely calm day that evening which of course is not the crews fault. If there was one thing I would have like is if we could have sailed out and around Fort Sumter rather than just going back and forth in the bay. But overall it was very nice and would certainly go again. Thanks to all.

Not Impressed
Wed, Aug 10, 11   6:30 PM zervetemp7 Male 30-39 Domestic Tourist(s) Family Without Children
Staff was not attentive and never even asked me if I wanted anything to drink. The ads mentioned the sail would be interactive but that was not the case at all. I was interested in learning about the ship but the way the crew acted, I decided not to even bother. I regretted the $84 I spent the first 10 minutes on board.

beautiful sail and the gorgeous bridge

I am usually quite cynical and disappointed by these activities. However, this dolphin sail was cleverly executed: plenty of harbor sights, all the way to Fort Sumter and plenty of cavorting dolphins and pelicans. Definitely worth it, ven for this New Yorker.
