We had a good time on the Pride. We got to see lots of dolphins and birds and the views from the boat were really beautiful. The crew was very informative whenever we had questions. I would like to do the sunset cruise next.

Peaceful Harbor Sail
Thu, Jul 24, 08   1:00 PM dmwendel Female 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Couple on a Date
We enjoyed the two hour sail around the harbor. We have always admired tall mast sailing vessels and this was a way to get up close and even assist in raising a sail or two. The Captain and crew were very attentive and ready to answer any question. Although we had no specific destination, just out around the harbor and back, it was fun to glide along next to a large cargo ship and watch several tug boats at work along with watching dolphins playing in the distance (I especially liked watching the dolphins near the front of the cargo ship riding the waves)

Great experience!!

Sailing on the Pride was a fantastic opportunity!! It wasn't outrageously expensive and a great vacation idea. Coming back in at dusk/dark was also another plus. To see the bridge at night was a very pretty site. I would sail again!

Do the Cruise!
Wed, Jul 23, 08   7:00 PM gmbarne Female 60-69 Domestic Tourist(s) Couple on a Date
A great way to spend an evening! With the wind cooperating, the sail was fun. The crew did not waste our time with a lot of talking but did interact with us if needed. This is a good way to take that first sail. Would definitely do this again.

It was nice peaceful trip that last a little over 2 hours. The wind was not cooperating that day so we ended up only pulling up 2 sails.

Best Thing We Did in Charleston
Mon, Jul 21, 08   7:00 PM katierney Male 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Family Without Children
Our sunset sail on the Schooner Pride was a wonderful experience. It is a very laid back atmosphere with no narration of historical facts and figures. Still, if you have questions and a desire to know local information (historical or otherwise), the crew is more than willing to fill you in and they are all very knowledgeable. The views from the boat are incredible, and the dolphins and pelicans were wonderfully entertaining. My wife was even allowed to steer the ship for a short time - great photo opp. and fun. I highly recommend this sail to anyone who wants a quiet, slow, relaxing experience with wonderful views, cold beverages, and knowledgeable and courteous sailors to aid in your enjoyment. It is a great experience and I would do it again in a heart beat.

Very relaxing sail

Your sunset sail was the best part of our trip. We are from Kansas, and do not get to sail like this in our land-locked state. While KS is beautiful, SC has many other wonderful amenities. We love your historical references and the attention to preserve history. Your schooner trip was so relaxing that we slept very well that evening. Thank you for a great sail on the harbor.

Just want to sail? Yes. Want a tour? No, No, No
Mon, Jul 21, 08   7:00 PM dousage Female 30-39 Domestic Tourist(s) Family With Children
I picked this activity because of the boat itself. I thought it would be nice to do a tour of the harbour on a sail boat ...different from the regular motorboat tours. I did know that there was no narration during the sail however I was very disappointed. The boat was never near enough to the shore or dock or whatever you care to call it for you to even see the buildings or the forts etc.. We pretty much stayed in the middle of the water, a crew member came and she pointed out (into the horizon) here to left is ft sumter, this one is moultrie etc.. not much details, not much enthsiam to it. The sail was relaxing but not informative or fun at all. We just sat on the boat for two hours, until it started getting dark....very boring. In the description it said it was somewhat of a tour and although not much narration would be done but you can ask question... I was indeed aware of that but I was not expecting to just sit in the middle of the water with no conversation piece in close enough sight to even talk and mingle with the others. If you want to just sail in the breeze it is fine but if you want a tour of the harbour to actually see anything I do not ...repeat ...do not recommend this tour. It was money down the drain for us. I ended up taking one the harbour tours from the other lines anyway.

We had a very nice trip on the sailboat. The crew was very nice and knowledgible. It was very hot and there was not much wind on the day we went, but it was still very enjoyable. We saw dolphins several times while on our trip.

Daytime sail at 1:00 pm
Thu, Jul 17, 08   1:00 PM fmalinowski Female 60-69 Domestic Tourist(s) Family With Children
The sailing was very nice; however, we did seem to go in a circle several times. I'm not sure how/what restrictions are on boats with passengers, but it would have been nice to not go past the same things several times. The Captain and crew were very nice and appeared to be competent. I would suggest that the Captain or one of the crew point out several things of interest. If asked, all questions were answered. I would also suggest some sketches/drawings/pictures of the ship be made available for purchase - it would have been nice to have them with the sails full up.
