We Loved This!
Wed, Apr 20, 11   6:30 PM KelleyandDan Female 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Couple on a Date
We went on the sunset sail as part of our Charleston honeymoon adventure and we loved every minute of it. The boat was beautiful, the crew was fabulous, and we met some great people. Our sail brought us past some beautiful places and treated us to gorgeous views. The sunset was spectacular and we have the pictures to prove it. We would go on this sail again in a heartbeat and would recommend it to anyone!

The staff were very friendly, the trip was relaxing and fun. Having the wind in your face is always a great way to end the day. I am a local and never get tired of seeing our beautiful city from the water.

A Wonderful, Relaxing way to spend two hours

Sail is easy paced and thoroughly enjoyable, gliding around Charleston Harbor. Schooner is clean, and Captain & crew experienced and friendly. Love being able to assist with the sailing. Two hours too short!

Nice Family Activity that includes the dog

This was the second time that we sailed The Pride. We enjoyed it both times. A plus is that they allow well-behaved small dogs. I could not pass that up. My 10 lb toy poodle enjoyed The Pride both times, too. This activity is a must-do for both visitors and locals.

seating & safety

I did not anticipate the crowd. Although we managed the seating, I would not recommend this actitivy to senior citizens. I also was concerned with the small children and their ability to fall overboard between the lines. The captain and crew were terrific.

Nice sailboat ride

The ride was very nice and the staff were quite pleasant. There were no dolphins and it would have been nice if there was a little narration to identify points of interest along the ride. I have no regrets for signing up because I enjoyed myself, however, perhaps the name should be changed from Dolphin.... because there were no dolphins and it is my understanding that there seldom are any on this ride.

Charleston Harbor. The sailboat did not far around the harbor. We did not see Fort Sumter.

My parents, my wife and myself thoroughly enjoyed the sunset sail aboard the Spirit. The crew were wonderful! Very entheusiastic and accomodating throughout the cruise. The Spirit is well maitained, clean, and comfortable. The crew offered beverage service and offered blankets as the night grew cooler. A great time for all of us! Would definately recommend to others and plan to go again next time we're in town.

Okay, but very dissapointed
Sun, Aug 7, 11   3:00 PM kayanna42 Female 30-39 Local Family With Children
This is definitely not a ride for children. I took my 2 5 year old girls and there is really no railings only tiny wires preveting you from falling off the boat, they were extremely bored. We left the dock and went out towards Fort Sumter, the ride was nothing more than going back and forth a few times. Although the captain was extremely bland the rest of the crew was friendly and nice. We finally saw some dolphins on the way back, unfortunately they were extremely far away. I feel it was extremely over priced for the trip we received, may be better for an older couple?

Mango Sunset and Blue Moonrise

Best part of living in Charleston is the water, and while I hit the beach almost every day, my sunset sails are usually reserved for outings with family and friends. The Pride is a beautiful schooner, and I love the gentle ride over the harbour waves, an hour of winding down and visiting with other sailing guests from all over the US and the world. One of these days I'm going to take the Moonlight Sail. Just need to find the right guy to take along!

Best Thing We Did in Charleston
Mon, Jul 21, 08   7:00 PM katierney Male 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Family Without Children
Our sunset sail on the Schooner Pride was a wonderful experience. It is a very laid back atmosphere with no narration of historical facts and figures. Still, if you have questions and a desire to know local information (historical or otherwise), the crew is more than willing to fill you in and they are all very knowledgeable. The views from the boat are incredible, and the dolphins and pelicans were wonderfully entertaining. My wife was even allowed to steer the ship for a short time - great photo opp. and fun. I highly recommend this sail to anyone who wants a quiet, slow, relaxing experience with wonderful views, cold beverages, and knowledgeable and courteous sailors to aid in your enjoyment. It is a great experience and I would do it again in a heart beat.

Lovely Sail

We had a beautiful day on a very nice sail boat. We knew ahead of time that it was not a running commentary type of boat ride but a little more info would have been nice. And the captain doesnt speak very loud so if you want to hear, make sure you sit close to the wheel. However I would recommend and we would go again but most likely on the sunset cruise next time.
