Peaceful, comfortable cruise with friendly crew
Mon, Aug 10  6:30 PM cdbartman Male 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Family With Children
The header summarizes our appreciation of the trip. Suggestions: it was very hot waiting in the sun for access to the schooner (we took the sunset cruise, so got the afternoon sun). A canopy which provided shade to those waiting would be nice. Separately, though the captain was very willing to answer questions if asked (and was obviously knowledgeable), some affirmative comments pointing out sights visible from the schooner would have been a nice addition (recognizing the crew is likely dealing with both locals who know the sights and out-of-town tourists who do not). I don't mean an overall tourguide patter, just occasional identification of sights. Overall, we enjoyed the cruise and would recommend it.

For a nice sunset cruise this was a good event. The boat however was very overcrowded to make it a romantic cruise by which this was advertised as. A bit pricy for the evening. The crew were very nice aboard.

Fun experience

I really enjoyed the sunset sail in the Charleston Harbor. My only regret is that the sail wasn't narrated with some history tidbits. The boat was very nice and the staff was too!

My wife and I went on this trip as part of a summer vacation. We both enjoyed the sail and the ambiance tremendously. The captain and crew were delightful and we were lucky to experience a beautiful sunset and a gorgeous full moon as we returned to the dock. It was very casual and everyone on board was polite and relaxed. I would highly recommend it to others as a memorable experience.

Our best Charleston Experience

We recently took our two college age daughters on a well needed family vacation to Charleston. My family and I spend most days visiting the rich historical sites including the Yorktown, Fort Sumpter, Battery Park, Market Street, Ghost tours, Magnolia Plantation and more. The sunset sailing tour on the Schooner Pride was our most relaxing and enjoyable adventure. The weather was perfect and the crew was very professional. I have some great photos of the sunset on the Charleston Bay. This was our first time on a sailboat of any kind and it has become our most memorable Charleston experience. I highly recommend the sunset tour although we were concerned about evening thunderstorms.

Great way to spend an evening.

We took the sunset cruise. The sailing trip was enjoyable, peaseful, and relaxing. Once the sails are up you are free to move about the boat and enjoy the views and wildlife. We were able to see dolphins and pellicans diving in the water to feed. There is no scripted tour of the harbor, however, the crew is willing and availabe to answer any questions. Refreshments are offered for sale but not pushed upon you. My family had a wonderful time.

Enjoyed the tour very much. Would have liked a little more narration, although crew made it clear that wasn't part of the sail.

would do it again happily

I wholeheartedly recommend the Schooner Pride cruise. The crew is friendly and helpful; they answer questions gladly without providing a scripted narration that might detract from the passengers' enjoyment. Even with some rain, the cruise was relaxing and very enjoyable. You'll see sites such as the USS Yorktown, Ft. Sumter, and the Ravenel Bridge from a different perspective than the ferry ride to Ft. Sumter.

It rocked!

The guys were great and the sail was smooth. The weather was overcast and gray but the setting sun was all sorts of great colors! Will be going again and again!

2nd trip on the 'Pride' as wonderful as the 1st

My sister and I went on the Schooner Pride's 'Sunset Cruise' this year for our 30th birthday. It was our second time sailing with them and we truly enjoyed it. The only trouble we had was that our original cruise had to be rescheduled due to strong storms in the area (quite expected for summer in the south) but we just called the phone number that was provided to us when we registered and were able to reschedule for 3 days later without any trouble. The night we finally did get to cruise was also stormy, but the bad weather had begun to clear our by the time we arrived and the most we had to deal with was a few sprinkles. The cloudy skies didn't seem to matter as the wind was perfect for sailing and the crew worked hard to dry off our seats and get us all comfortable. I highly recommend this cruise for tourists, locals and anyone looking for a great time out on the water - it is well worth the money and any minor weather issues you might have to deal with! We have done both the afternoon and sunset cruises and are looking forward to doing a full moon cruise in the near future!!

Very nice sail

We had a great time on our sunset sail on the Schooner Pride. It rained all day and was still raining slightly as we set sail, but the crew believed it would stop by the time we got out on the water. I was skeptical but by the time we were underway, the rain stopped and it ended up being a beautiful sail. Couldn't see much of the sunset due to cloud cover, but what we did see was excellent. The crew was VERY nice and made the trip even more pleasant. My wife and I plan to do another trip with them in the future.

Pleasant and relaxing

My wife and I were on our 39th wedding anniversary and thought a sailing cruise would be a pleasant experience. We thoroughly enjoyed the sail, and the captain and crew were very gracious, pleasant and accomodating. We had hoped that we would be able to take part in the sunset cruise but the boat was reserved for that particular Saturday, so we went on the 3:00 PM venture. Our next visit will hopefully be a sunset cruise, but I would recommend this to any of my friends and family. Thank you Jack and Kim Steiner

Pretty harbor, polite crew, no information
Fri, Jul 31  3:00 PM Jarecki Female 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Family Without Children
The crew was very polite, however, from the start, Captain Terry stated that this is not a narrated tour. You can ask questions and they are answered. It is only a harbor cruse so a small map noting points of interest would have made it much more enjoyable. Combine the map with narration regarding the islands, lighthouse, Ft. Sumter, Yorktown II, the bridge (it's design), activity in the harbor, etc., would have made the tour worth the cost.
