Beautiful Evening Sail

I highly recommend the sunset sail on the Schooner Pride in Charleston Harbor. My entire family had a great time. The trip really gave us a feel for how things were when sail power dominated the seas. The sights were amazing, and the cooling sea breezes "cured" an amazingly hot August day.

Lovely

This was our two year anniversary and we decided to come to Charleston. This was a perfect activity. It was extremely relaxing and the view of the city was beautiful. Despite the extreme August heat, it was much cooler on the water, and I saw the first dolphin I've ever seen come right next to the boat. I'm recommending this sailing excursion to my sister and her husband and I would recommend it to any couple.

Great time, fun crew!

We were in Charleston from Nashville, TN, and thought we'd take a try at a sailing cruise. It just seemed more exciting than the other "booze cruise" options. The cruise left on time, returned right on the money, and the crew was very kind. They didn't bother us with info we didn't want, but were more than happy to answer any questions about Charleston or the boat or sailing in general. And of course, cold beer makes everything better!

Overpriced and crowded.
Sat, Aug 2, 08   7:00 PM wdfulbright Male 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Family With Children
There were too many people booked. We had to sit on a rocking box, 6 people and 4 people had ro sit on the deck transition area. We motored out for the first 25 minutes and finally raised sails. The instructions were directed to the people at the front of the boat and ignored the people sitting in the unsafe area. For the price paid the value was not there. It was just a boat ride. For the price you should get at the very least 1 soda to drink instead of having to pay a high price for the beverages.

it'd be great if the crew gave some history on what we see from the boat. as a newcomer to charleston i wanted to learn a great deal of history. it was silent the whole boat ride unless you spoke with fellow passengers. it would be great if it was somewhat of a tour.

Captain Blah!

Went for a daysail on the pride. The captain took some of his family along for the ride and he had a great conversation with them and not his customers; super unprofessional! The captain slurred words and had a slight appearance of confusion (doesn't know Charleston history which he sites) and just to make an uncomfortable situation worse, there is an extra charge for everything! This place doesn't give a crap about their customers it is just a cattle boat operation - herd as many on and off each trip as they can seems the only objective.

boring

just boring in general. it is NOT a historical tour, the captain and his mates basically just sail around the harbor and you sit and talk. Beer is expensive and they serve nothing but chips and pretzels to eat.

My wife and I took this approx 2-2.5 hr sail/ride around the Charleston Harbor for the sunset cruise and the views and sunset were just perfect. The ship was spotless, Captain very knowledgeable and trust worthy as was all the staff. Great interaction from the crew with all the guests, This cruise is well worth the expense and myself and wife would recommend this cruise to all ages and every time you can get to Charleston

Sunset Sail Less Than Stellar Evening

The sunset ride on the Schooner Pride was "okay" but we were expecting information from the captain about the various sights and landmarks around the bay. Instead the major discussion from various individuals was about where to eat in Charleston. We were led to believe that the schooner ride was going to the interesting and informative--we didn't care about a critique of restaraunts.

Peaceful Harbor Sail
Thu, Jul 24, 08   1:00 PM dmwendel Female 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Couple on a Date
We enjoyed the two hour sail around the harbor. We have always admired tall mast sailing vessels and this was a way to get up close and even assist in raising a sail or two. The Captain and crew were very attentive and ready to answer any question. Although we had no specific destination, just out around the harbor and back, it was fun to glide along next to a large cargo ship and watch several tug boats at work along with watching dolphins playing in the distance (I especially liked watching the dolphins near the front of the cargo ship riding the waves)

Sailing on the Pride was a fantastic opportunity!! It wasn't outrageously expensive and a great vacation idea. Coming back in at dusk/dark was also another plus. To see the bridge at night was a very pretty site. I would sail again!
