Very pleasant, no sea sickness, but not as fast moving as I expected. Crew was knowledgeable and helpful. Seating was a little tight, depending on if you like your back against the side of a complete stranger for 2 hrs for those of us who had corner "seating". |

We had a lovely time on the Sunset Sail. It was relaxing and enjoyable. It was the perfect mix of quietness with the right amount of narrative. The crew was friendly and knowledgable. The passengers that got to help with the sails seemed to have a blast! |

It was a cold windy day for this trip. I realized when we got to the dock for the excursion that I had selected and paid for a boat ride that I thought to be one where we would be seated inside looking out. I could not even stay on the dock for it was moving back and forth that caused me to get dizzy. So we moved back to a more stable unmovable area. I kept saying, "I'm not going, I'm not going" and hubby kept saying, "you'll be okay". And when it was really time to board, the young lady who was checking names for boarding said, "It's rocky now, but once you get on board and we move out to sea, you will be fine". "Trust me", she said, and so I boarded. The ride was simply awesome, cold, but awesome. This was one of the most exciting trips I have been on in a long, long time. And I thoroughly enjoyed it with the cold winds and all.

Just a wonderful time out on the boat! Captain and crew were great. Very fun time. Would highly recommend a sail around Charleston and Fort Sumter, out past many islands. Many thanks! |

4 friends very much enjoyed our experience on the schooner, The Pride. It was a great way to see a different part of Charleston and learn a little bit of history. The sail was mostly that, a sail...but the captain did speak a little bit about certain items and we were provided a map which highlighted certain items. This was perfect for me...sailing and reading what I want to read. One of my friends would have probably opted for a more traditional guided tour with more history. The crew was fabulous. There was a point where they ask if any one would like to help get the sails up. So, there was a participation aspect if you spoke up. The crew would get beverages upon request. It was a lovely experience. Very easy to book....very easy to find. |

I can't believe we put off checking out the Schooner Pride. It was so much more awesome than we had expected and was so much better than or previous sunset cruises in Charleston. It was an experience we won't be forgetting anytime soon. We come to Charleston 3-4 times a year and will definitely be back on the Pride again! |

Cruise very relaxing but please ban cell phones - phone cameras OK because they don't make noise, but you are on a boat and other people's conversations carry only too well over water. And you really should not charge your passengers for water. Soft drinks - Yes: Water - No. This "freebie" would be worth thousands in positive PR. Also your rain policy stinks - had it rained this particular night, my out of town guest would have lost her $42 as there is no chance of her returning to take another cruise. Even if the Cruise Company cancels because of weather, the passenger does not get a refund. This stinks and frankly if I go again with a guest, I will wait until I get to the dock to buy a ticket - better to take chance no place on boat, than pay for trip that isn't going to happen because of the weather. Plus the $2.00 processing fee seems to be really a charge levied to recoup the fee charged by the credit card company - right? |

The sail was handled very professionally. The day we (my granddaughter & I) went the ship was not crowded and everyone appeared comfortable. One of the crew pointed out some sights which were interesting, an added feature. I am sure it helped that there was a slight breeze blowing and a beautiful day. |

The header summarizes our appreciation of the trip. Suggestions: it was very hot waiting in the sun for access to the schooner (we took the sunset cruise, so got the afternoon sun). A canopy which provided shade to those waiting would be nice. Separately, though the captain was very willing to answer questions if asked (and was obviously knowledgeable), some affirmative comments pointing out sights visible from the schooner would have been a nice addition (recognizing the crew is likely dealing with both locals who know the sights and out-of-town tourists who do not). I don't mean an overall tourguide patter, just occasional identification of sights.
Overall, we enjoyed the cruise and would recommend it. |
