Maybe the Highlight of our Trip
Fri, Jun 13, 08   7:00 PM eillenru Female 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Group of Friends
We were a group of 55 - 65 church friends known as "the Rowdy Group" in our Sunday School Dept. We had a wonderful time in Savannah and the Pride evening sail was most relaxing and enjoyable. Would do it again.

Night sail

We were visiting from the central US and had never been on a sailboat. We took the ride just for that experience. The two hour experience was just the right amount of time. I would recommend this experience and would sail with them again on another visit. Take your camera.

A lovely sunset night sail

Loved the Schooner Pride - very clean and surprisingly smooth sail considering a bit of roughness. Captian and crew very good and knowledgable (although the female seemed to never stop talking of non-sailing subjects) . A bit too much of PDA (public display of affection from 3 couples but that wasn't the fault of the crew. We had a wonderful time, otherwise and would do it again and recommend it to others. It was 2 hours of welcomed peace on the water! Glad we took the sunset sail instead of the daytime during this 95 degree weather. PS - I would have insisted that the 2 year old wear a life preserver at all times. We thought he was so unruly that he could very well have slid right off the boat because the parents were not so attentive.

Relaxed

An enjoyable sail within the harbor. No commentary of local sights, but pleasant conversation with captain and crew. Not a sightseeing cruise, but a chance to view the harbor from the water prespective. Not for those looking for an active adventure.

My wife and I have been celebrating our anniversary in Charleston for 13 years. The evening sunset cruise was the most relaxing, enjoyable and memorable thing we have ever done in Charleston. I look forward to doing it again next year.

Boring and no details about Charleston!!!
Fri, Jun 6, 08   7:00 PM MOONCHILD222 Female 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Family Without Children
We expected a simi informational cruise thru the harbour....but....we got nothing of the sort.. There was no music, no info and no fun...The only thing that was good were the young trainee's that brought you drinks. At least they had a sense of humor, the captain was bored too.... NOT RECOMMENDED...

A pleasant afternoon on Charleston Harbor

It was a very pleasant, relaxing experience on a hot, humid Charleston afternoon. My party could have sailed on for a few more hours outside the harbor since a lot of the time is spent setting sail and returning to port. For those who have never sailed it was probably perfect; for those of us who have sailed and owned sailboats, we enjoyed not having to do the "work." The captain and crew were friendly and efficient, and attentive to questions asked regarding the surrounding coastline. We would recommend this tour above any harbor tour on a motorized vessel!

Sailing on the Schooner Pride is the way to go. It was a very relaxing way to tour Charleston Harbor. The crew was friendly ,heipful and informative . I highly recommend it. It's worth every penny of the cost. Our next time in Charleston we hope to take the sunset sailing. Bill Andershock

Out on the water

When your customers board the boat they are greeted by a laid back crew. It is a very relaxed environment. The Captain was friendly and informative on the safety of the vessel and we were off in a timely fashon. We motored out, as the captain described we would do, the sails were set and it was nice that they included the guests to assist in pulling the sheets that set the sails. A great photo opp. The anticipation and excitement of an enjoyable evening out on the water had begun. The sky was clear, the wind warm and a picture perfect sunset embarked over Charleston. Then the music started! Or perhaps I noticed it after the motor was cut. It took away from the experience! This was our chance (the customer) to listen to the water rush by the hull, to listen to the sails luff in the wind, to be with our own thoughts and nature. That is what we paid for. Sailing would be boring without these senses. It's what it's all about! The girl tried to give us some history on the harbor and that was very nice. I know it was not a history tour but remember again that most of the people are not from here and don't know the history. What could have made it better? No music! History!!! How about a big paper map (easily stowed) of the harbor that shows where you are, the locations of the two rivers and their names. Tell us why the harbor was such an important stronghold during the war. Point out the direction where the Boone plantation slaves made bricks that built the structures that George Washington had built out on the island. Give us a scenerio on how much time it took to get back and forth, by boat, to a plantation. Send us back in time, perhaps when the revolutionary war started in one of the most famous harbors in the US. Let people know how important shipping was back then. Point out Fort Sumter like you did. Get our minds into another era. Tell us about the Big Houses along the shoreline surrounded by trees and the fancy people that could have lived in them. Again, offer us a drink midway into the sail, like you did at the very beginning, to wet our lips and allow us to ponder what we are lookng at. Tell us about the boat we are sailing on. Do these things and you will not have to ask for a tip at the end and tell us how hard you worked. And we, (the customers) will not be offended and would be willing to part with a little extra cash for the crew without feeling guilty. Over all the sail was nice but there was no wow factor. If you like to go out on an uneventfull cruise this is for you. There is always the "thrill of the sail", even on other boats. The sunset was awesome but, I wish there was no music, The crew was friendly but struggled with their guests for conversation and at the end the Captain asked for a tip for the crew, which I felt, and pardon the punn, was very tacky. Out of 10 points I rate this a 5. I must keep in mind this was not a history tour. Others in my group rated it a 7.

We felt we would enjoy the sailing trip, but the trip was truly enjoyed by everyone more than expected. Really fun sailing with the captain and his crew. We have already recommended it to several people, with several saying they would be going soon themselves.

Our sunset cruise was a wonderful experience. My husband and I would recommend this to anyone. It was nice and relaxing without being too "touristy". The crew was very down to earth and incredibly friendly. The next time we are in Charleston we will definitely be back. Absolutely recommended!!!!
