I planned this trip for a year and surprised my husband with the cruise for an anniversary gift. The crew and captain were fun and knowledgable, The schooner was clean and safety was the first order of business, John made the information for safety fun. His knowledge about the area was great and his presentation not boring. Everyone on the cruise appeared to have a great time. |

My family of five (me, wife, kids of 16,14 and 9) had a great time on the sail. The 16 year old was less excited than the rest of us (need I remind you that he's 16) but he's not much of an outdoorsman anyway. We sat in the back by the captain and he was informative and fun. I also noticed all of the friendly crew keeping guests company the whole time. I was impressed by their knowledge and friendly attitude. |

We had a great time! The captain and crew were professional, courteous, informative, and extremely inclusive to everyone on board during this 2 hour schooner sailing on the York River. Guests' ages ran from small children (with parents) to seniors. We had an great day and I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone looking for a restful trip on this beautiful river. BZ to the captain and crew! |

The short cruise was nice and staff provided a little history of Yorktown. We wished we had gone further up the river and been given a little current info about the area. |

Today I went on a trip with "The Travel club for Women" to the Yorktown River, in Yorktown Va. We sailed on the Schooner Alliance from 11:00 until 3:00. The day was beautiful, the winds were perfect, and the ladies were ready to have a great time. The crew was more than inviting and very entertaining. The ladies seemed to enjoy themselves immensely as evidenced by the great photos. Be sure to check them out.

Great Addition to Historic Triangle Sites

This is a great addition to your Historic Triangle sites list when in Williamsburg/Jamestown/Yorktown area. It is a pleasant break from all the walking and tours, and nothing calms and is as serene as the creaking of sails, fresh breezes off the water, and slightly rolling motion of a sailing ship. The crew and staff were very engaging, very friendly and knowledgeable. They allow you to help raise the sails and set them if desired. The box lunch was very good, the sandwiches HUGE and tasty and fresh. Due to infirmities we were almost ten minutes late getting aboard but they held the sailing until I made it. My boys loved the experience, as did I. RECOMMENDED for inclusion in your itinerary for this area. |
