Great for Kids and Adults, too long for some kids

The first half hour and last half hour were great for kids and adults. The kids 8-12 gathered in the galley for the middle part of the tour, bored with calm cruising and shore scenery. Relaxing for adults. Great commentary by the Captain and Crew, all very knowledgeable. |

We enjoyed the short getaway to break up the hectic pace. Once you are on board your environment changes and you have no choice except to relax. Crew was courteous and knowledgeable. It was a great break. |

A great experience. I would definitely recommend it. However, the company might want to consider restricting children to four years of age or older. Two children younger than that were on our ship, one scared to death and when one wasn't whining loudly the other was. I'm not the only one disturbed by it. I heard another passenger on shore afterward remarking on how unpleasant it was. |

The ship is well maintained, and very clean. The crew is friendly, knowledgeable and experienced. They are willing and able to answer questions about sailing in general and their ship in particular. We only wish the range of the cruise had been longer. |

My wife and I have been sailing before and each time we go we find it very relaxing. The weather was great, the captain and his crew were very friendly and informative. Even though our cell phones had service, we learned with our first 2 hour sail that when we are on the boat the rest of the world can wait. (We used our phone to take photos and videos). There was ample parking nearby. Highly recommend. |

Tall ship experience is worth it

I am a recreational sailor and have owned sailboats in past so I understand how a good sail experience is totally dependent on what that the weather is doing. The day we sailed on Yorktown River was about perfect for summer sailing 74 degrees and nice wind.
The captain and crew taught all of us about tall ship sailing. Food for the grandkids was $3 hotdogs, their preference.
We would do it again with that kind of weather. |
