| This was our second sailing on the Schooner Serenity, but the first out of Yorktown.
The Riverwalk Landing is a great place to spend time while waiting to embark or after disembarking.
The two-masted Serenity, with gaff rigging, offers a unique sailing experience compared to most sailboats on the Chesapeake. The efficient crew, captained by Merritt Walter, provided us a most enjoyable afternoon sail. The Serenity is truly a beautiful sight as she 'broad' reaches under full sail. |

| There was absolutely no wind on the day I went, which is understandable and out of anyone's control. But we winded up basically sitting in the same spot for two hours. So there definitely was no sightseeing. The captain should have just used the motor and drove us around. At least then we would have seen something. We basically stared at the same thing for two hours in the same spot. It was a waste of time and not worth the money. I would not recommend. |

| First, we didn't get on the big ship even though I specifically reserved for what was supposed to be the last day it was available, rather than the following day when it would have been more convenient but the big ship was not going to be available.
Then, there wasn't a lot of wind so we just floated in the same spot untl we had all the scenery memorized. Apparently, not a big effort was made to catch the wind because we got to watch the Alliance leave for Jacksonville and sail off out of sight without any difficulty whatsoever. There were no snacks or drinks aboard as promised even though I had confirmed that very thing by phone a day before. So while we stared at the same scenery in sight of the pier where we took off for two hours, we also had to die of thirst in the heat because the boat wasn't moving at all to cause a breeze. The couple who manned the boat didn't bother to tell us a thing about the area but the woman did seem to like to talk about herself. It was a total waste of money and time. We could have stood on shore and seen the same thing but we would have had a nice cold drink in our hand and had the opportunity to move into the shade. |

| We enjoyed the professionalism of the crew and the beautiful boat; however, the outing would have been much more enjoyable had there been some commentary or narration of the area as we sailed the York River.
As one who grew up on the York River, I was astonished that there wasn't anyone offering a narration about ,not only the abundant amount of significant national history that occured there with regard to the founding of our nation, but there is so much to offer as well with regard to the ecological and maritime information of the York River and Chesapeake Bay.
My husband and I often take tours both on land and on water when visiting other cities and there is always someone who gives a verbal narrative of the tour which enables us to learn so much about the area. |

| the trip, with "Captain Dave" and crew was great. Hoisting sails and drifting in a low wind river, can only imagine what it would be with a full sail. What a day. Would recommend this cruise to anyone visiting the tri city history and all who want a p respective of York. |

| We greatly enjoyed our sail on the Yorktown Alliance Tall Ship. Yorktown is a beautiful city. The location of the pier is very scenic and the swing bridge in the back ground added a unique feature to the sail. The time went by very quickly. I highly recommend this to anyone who likes boating and being around the water. |

| We enjoyed learning about the sailing boat and being able to lift the sails. We learned how the boat moved with current and some information about the area. |

| The day we had pre-chosen was cold and windy. That did not deter from us going on the adventure. The crew was entertaining with music and stories of the area both historically and current time. Bring a cushion to sit on. The seating is very hard! |
