SAILING EXPERIENCE --- EXCEPTIONAL

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our sail on the York River. We left the dock on time and arrived back at the dock at the designated time. In between those times we had a fantastic day of warm sunshine and a great breeze for sailing. The crew of two girls and the captain were efficient in their duties as well as allowing me to raise the rear sail. They never hesitated to answer any questions from any of the passengers. We will definitely sail with them again the next time we have the opportunity. I have already sent the crew an e-mail of thanks. Yours truly, Mike and Bev Williams Shanty Bay, Ontario Canada

we enjoyed our selfs very much. what could have made it a bit nicer was if the captain of the day was a bit more talkative and did the amount of explaining as the other crew members were doing as the the sails were a hoist and some of the fun things that go on on board. Would we go again? you betcha!

A little disappointed

I felt the captain could have provided a better trip. There wasn't much wind that day so of course the sail was slow which he had no control over. What bothered me was that he could have used the motor to bring us out further so that we could have experienced a longer ride with the wind on the return trip. We enjoyed the trip back because we were going with the current and caught the wind. The crew was very nice and had a lot of information. They were also very accommodating to everyone. The ship itself is beautiful. I would try taking the trip again next time we come back to VA.

Loved this sailing trip - took my young adult son who also loved it. A little expensive, but lovely and the folks were very friendly.

Smooth cruise even though wind was sufficient. Ship is clean and sturdy. Crew members very likeable, fun, and careful. Cap'n "well seasoned". We recommend.

Excellent!

Even though the weather was not as nice as we hoped, the Alliance has a tarp we could stay under to keep from getting wet from the drizzle. We also were allowed to go below deck if we wanted. Captain is very knowledgeable about local history too! Pleasant crew as well. No motion sickness on this boat either and I usually get it bad. Tour lasts for 2 hours and may go up the York River or into the Chesapeake Bay depending on wind, etc. Well worth the money!
