Relaxed Sailing
Fri, May 14, 10   11:00 AM Arrington Female 40-49 Local Couple on a Date
Staff was very friendly. I was already aware that there is no scenic route of breathtaking views and it's not a narrated cruise (however, the staff addressed any questions). So if you're looking for a relaxed 2 hour afternoon sailing, this will not disappoint you. I think music would be a great addition.

Great views & learning experience

Unfortunately, my husband ended up sick in our hotel room but I came alone. Although a somewhat overcast day, it was good sailing weather. A new crew member was being trained, so it was enjoyable to learn along with the new hand. I would recommend that you take up the invitation to help hoist the sails; it gives one a feel for the strength needed! Questions about terms or equipment were readily answered. I would recommend that you come with layered clothing, as it could get chilly on the open water. An enjoyable 2 hours for me!

Beautiful schooner, wonderful crew

We had a nearly perfect afternoon for sailing with plenty of sun, moderate temperature and 15 knots of wind. The Alliance is a lovely, comfortable schooner. Captain Greg, Captain Laura and Nathaniel were all friendly, competent, patient and knowledgeable. The only negative is that 2 hours was too short! We would do it again anytime.

I invited my in-laws, two sisters, their husbands and their children to come celebrate my husband's birthday on board. The experience was magnificent. The boat was beautiful and everyone had a marvelous time. If you are in Yorktown make sure to add a Day Sails Sightseeing tour to your itinerary. You will be happy you did!

My wife and myself were first time sailors, we have always wanted to go sailing but never had the chance. This was a great chance for us to have this experience at a reasonable cost. The crew on the boat was very professional, freindly and knowledgeable about the area. Had a great time

Everyone in the group loved the Schooner ride! The crew made themselves very available to all the passengers ... answering questions and giving us alot of information about the Schooner and the area. We have just moved to the area within the last 6 months and will be recommending this activity to all of our visitors!

Great trip

the trip was fun. We sailed around the river, for two hours, which was the time that was advertised. The owners of the boat were friendly. Also, the price of a coke ($1.00) was reasonable. I didn't order a sandwich, but wish I had. There was a catered box lunch that looked really good, which was either $7 ot $9 additional. We had good wind that day and we enjoyed sailing.

We had a pleasant cruise on the Alliance. The crew answered questions, but did not volunteer information regarding what we were sailing past.
