Our party had 2 kids 13 and 11 and 4 adults from 42-52 years old. The adults really liked it, but I think the kids could have done without. The crew was extremely pleasant and knowledgeable. They were a great pleasure to spend 2 hours with. We had a beautiful day and it was nice to take a rest from running from attraction to attraction.

We enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. Our grandson got to help raise the sails. The crew want out of their way to show our 7 yr old how to tie knots too. Many thanks.

The sailing at Yorktown Day Sails and crew were awesome. Huricane Bill did not reach Mid - Virginia, so we had a nice and easy day sail in the "rivah" . With Captain Greg, and Eric and Jack aboard, we had a smooth sail, with the opportunity to work as crew, as I did, or sit back and relax. Captain Greg had a wealth of knowledge about the Battlefields, local area and history, and shared his experiences of the off shore sailing I dream of. I worked with Jack and thoroughly enjoyed the experience working with not only a sailor, but another engineer, enjoying his passion........ sailing. Bill Thomas - USN (Ret) Richmond, VA

We (me, my wife, our son and my sister-in-law) were excited to see the Yorktown coast from the water. The captain and crew were exceptionally professional and very knowledgable of the workings of the Alliance. Their answers to the many questions showed a real dedication to what they were about. They were very courteous and helpful as we sailed and moved about the deck to get the best views. Thanks for the memories an excellent day on the water!

We thoroughly enjoyed sailing on the Alliance with Captain Greg and his crew. Not only did we experience sailing in the bay but the crew were very knowledgeable not only with the boat but also with the local history as we sailed. We would highly recommend this to others.

Not worth the effort or money typical tourist trap

The temp. was almost 100 degrees on Aug. 19 but the ad said they sold snacks so we left our water bottles in the car. Our two young grand-children had to put life jackets on immediately. A good idea but the crew said they could not get us any water until they were finished setting sail. Almost 35 minutes later in the brutal heat, we were allowed to buy water for our 4 year old and 8 year old grandchildren. They stated as we pulled out from shore "this cruise does not give a running narrative so if you want to know about anything, just ask." For the next 2 hours, the crew did not speak one word to the 15 or so passengers on board. We were sailing down the York River, one of the most historical places in America, and we might as well have been in a bathtub! There was no place provided for people to sit. We sat on the storage boxes or the deck. There was not one thought given to the comfort of the paying passengers. I felt like a hostage. It was a miserable experience and a disgrace to the beautiful town of Yorktown. They should be put out of business.
