The temp. was almost 100 degrees on Aug. 19 but the ad said they sold snacks so we left our water bottles in the car. Our two young grand-children had to put life jackets on immediately. A good idea but the crew said they could not get us any water until they were finished setting sail. Almost 35 minutes later in the brutal heat, we were allowed to buy water for our 4 year old and 8 year old grandchildren. They stated as we pulled out from shore "this cruise does not give a running narrative so if you want to know about anything, just ask." For the next 2 hours, the crew did not speak one word to the 15 or so passengers on board. We were sailing down the York River, one of the most historical places in America, and we might as well have been in a bathtub! There was no place provided for people to sit. We sat on the storage boxes or the deck. There was not one thought given to the comfort of the paying passengers. I felt like a hostage. It was a miserable experience and a disgrace to the beautiful town of Yorktown. They should be put out of business. |

The crew did not offer any information about this beautiful sailing ship, or tell us about the area. We were expecting some "tour-like" info, talk, but that did not happen. There was some kind of musical instrument played, but only for the front of the boat....then it was over.... What about the rest of us ????
Their "tip" jar was close to empty...it would have only taken some "effort" for passengers to stuff some $$$ into the jar. Other passengers felt the same way..
It was a beautiful day.... |

Just wished it could have been longer. The boat was beautiful, Captain Greg and his crew were friendly and accomodating. My son was nervous at the start of the day, wished he could have stayed on board longer once he got his "sea legs and sea nerve". |

Yes, we were late, but my party members were in sight walking to the sailboat and the Alliance left the pier with me standing next to the boat. They were at that moment already late, they saw my family members coming and chose to take off. Just so you know that this company will see you coming and still leave!!! I asked for the 7 lunches that I prepaid for and they forgot to give me the drinks that went with them. In my opinion, this would not have happened in the new england area. I had the impression this was that "southern" way if you know what I mean. |

The two-hour sail was the perfect mid-day addition to a lazy day of sightseeing, especially when followed with dinner and drinks at a local cafe overlooking the river. Keep in mind that the trip is more about enjoying the experience than having a full fledged sailing adventure. We loved it. |

All of us grew up on the Atlantic or some branch of it. All of us are well educated,, so we weren't surprised by the majestic appearance of the schooner. And yet, all of US were so excited to be on this schooner, with this captain and his crew, and to receive the interesting history lesson --- was well above what any of us expected. This is a MUST do. |

The two hour sailing trip was nice. My 4 year old loved talking to the crew and even was able to "steer" the ship. My 8 year old girl enjoyed the sites as well. Overall, the family really enjoyed the experience. |

I was expecting to go farther than we did, and I was expecting to have some narration done on the area. Little dissapointed. Also my son got scared and my husband and son never did take the trip. |

Great day for a sail. The wind was perfect for the sails. We went on the 11am ride, the temperatures weren't so hot yet at that time. A folding chair with a back was available for my mother that has severe arthritis. Captain was very nice and friendly. They allowed the children on board to guide the boat if they wanted to. |
