We enjoyed this activity greatly. The crew was very knowledgeable and answered all questions we had. The Captain and the crew were great, would highly recommend this to anyone who was going to do this. We had reservations for the sunset cruise, but the weather did not permit us going and we were able to reschedule for the following day at 11:00 AM. The weather was wonderful. |

Everything went smoothly, ticket, boarding etc., and friendly atmosphere. Captain had a good sense of humor, seemed knowledgeable. The only real negative was that if the weather was bad, and this is VERY possible in summer time, that the ticket was not refundable, only a voucher for a later sail date could be given. Since we had a four hour drive and were leaving the area that day, that would not have worked for us. This is a bad policy! We were fortunate that the weather was Ok, since we bought the tickets in advance , they usually sell out. |

Two hours of total relaxation and joy. My husband and my 25-year-old son agree with this description. It was the best thing we did during our three days in the historical Williamsburg area. The captain of the Alliance was very knowledgeable of the area and the history that went with it. He had a great sense of humor and had us all laughing. The crew was eye candy for us old ladies. They were very nice, too. We took a buggy ride in Williamsburg and it lasted 15 minutes and the driver told us nothing about all the history around us. We recommend this cruise highly. It's worth every cent! |

We loved this trip! We took this trip as a last minute "that sounds like it would be nice" kind of thing. Both of thoroughly enjoyed the trip. Everything worked very easy from making the arrangements, to finding the dock, to sitting back on the deck and watching the scenery. We also learned quite a bit about sailing from the very friendly crew. Would do this kind of trip again in a heartbeat. |

The cruise was a leisurely and scenic trip up and down the York River. Not a "high powered" history lesson, not flashy - but a brief and interesting view of the workings of a sailing ship. You could choose to help trim the sails, or, just sit back in the breeze and watch the shoreline or the school of dolphin we encountered. The Captain knew just enough Revolutionary and Civil War history of the area to point out some significant points at which troops engaged or ships blocked enemies at the shore and who the key players were. But it was not so taxing as to ruin the theraputic effect of the sun and wind. The crew generously offered answers to passengers' questions regarding the ship, the local area, and the sailors' way of life in all seasons. |

My daughters and I took the 2 hour morning sail -- it was a beautiful day, but not much wind. The crew was especially attentive and asked for volunteers to help putting up the sails and taught the kids the proper names of the rigging. Because there was almost no wind, it was really a 'motor sail', but very enjoyable. We ordered the boxed lunches and they were very good -- just not too kid friendly. I would be nice to have a box lunch offered that had pre-teen tastes in mind. This is definitley a low-energy activity that older and/or tired tourists would enjoy. There is enough excitement to keep the little kids entertained, but just sitting and watching the river move by is great after a day of visiting all the walk-around attractions in the area. Remember to put on sunscreen and to wear a hat! It gets pretty warm out on the water and there is not much shade on deck. |

We went on-line to find things to see and do in Yorktown. As soon as we saw information about the Alliance, we knew we had to do it. We made advance reservations on-line for a 2:00 cruise. It was great! The crew answered any questions we had. We recommend it to anyone. |
