The two hour trip my husband and I took on the Alliance out of Yorktown, VA was one of the most amazing things we have ever done. We truly enjoyed every minute. The crew was incredibly knowledgable about both the surrounding area and the workings of their vessel. We are strongly considering one of their week long charters in an up coming winter. |

It was a wonderful two hour excursion. The three person crew readily talked to all, and answered any questions people had. They let us help raise the sails, and seemed to welcome discussion about the boat, the river, and the area in general. You felt welcome, and a part of their extended family.
THANK YOU |

It was very nice. The wind could have cooperated more and been a bit more gusty. However, it was very relaxing and the views outstanding thanks to blue skies and clear, sunny weather. |

Hi!
My wife and I were visiting Williamsburg and the surrounding area for the 2nd consecutive year(with many more to come, God willing) and we spent a lot of time visiting historical sites. Of course, our endeavors included spending time at Yorktown. We saw a brochure for sailing cruises for the ALLIANCE and bought tickets post haste. Unfortunately, or so we thought, the ALLIANCE was on charter duty and we ended up on the SERENITY. As it turns out, sailing aboard the SERENITY was one of the best parts of our vacation.
The SERENITY is a beautiful sailing vessel, and our trip was wonderful. The skipper and crew were accomodating, beyond polite and so very knowledgable. We sailed down the York River, and around the Yorktown Harbor area for 2 hours and could not have had more fun. Every member of the crew was absolutely professional, and gracious and we had a blast. Did I mention that my wife and I had a blast? As a 10-year veteran of both the Navy and Coast Guard, it felt good to get back out on the water, if only briefly.
My wife and I highly recommend this experience for one and all. We plan to do it again next year. Our eternal thanks to the crew members who made our "voyage" so very enjoyable. TAKE THIS CRUISE!!!! YOU WON'T REGRET IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

The day was beautiful as was the scenery. The trip is billed as going through a historical area, but there was no discussion or dialogue about what we were seeing. This detracted from the tour as the sights were about the same along the shore. It may have been better to visit the ghost fleet further up river or to have a monologue for the crew that weaves in the history and landscape. Either one would have enhanced the trip. |

My wife and I have owned a sail boat in the past and are frequent visitors to Yorktown VA. I was visited by my companies strategic partner from Asia and purchased tickets as a surprise. He and his wife were thrilled with the trip and was very complimentary about the historic feel and the expertise of the crew. The weather and the wind was perfect and the experience will always be remembered.
Thank you all very much for a great day. |

We thoroughly enjoyed our two hour afternoon sail on the Schooner Aliance. It was a beautiful day and very enjoyable and relaxing. The captain and crew were very knowledgeable about the area we were sailing in and pointed out items of interest. They were also very happy to explain the ins and outs of sailing a ship as much as one wanted to learn. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a relaxing and fun couple of hours! |

We assumed that the sailing trip would include sights of the bay. We only went to the mouth of the bay and no sights were seen. There was no wind. One of the staff stated we went further than if we had been sailing since we did not have to "tack" back and forth with the wind. We thought we were going under the bridge in that direction but instead went close to the mouth of the bay. The staff were nice and courteous and answered questions. It was just not what we expected. However, it was a beautiful day and was nice to be out on the water. |
