Graduation Fun

My husband graduated from college this past weekend. We invited all of our extended family to attend the graduation and also schedule the cruise. We all had a fabulous time. The captain and staff were very informative and fun to talk to. We wouldn't mind cruising with him on a week long cruise in the Caribbean.

My husband and I live locally and see the Alliance docked at Yorktown. We often said that we should sail on it and after hearing the owners interviewed on the local radio station I finally scheduled a trip. We took a friend and all of us enjoyed a wonderful evening. The staff was entertaining and friendly, the ship was "shipshape" with drinks and snacks available. The views of daily sights from the ship were wonderful. We plan to make this a yearly event.

It was an evening you hope for but very seldom experience. We had pleasant winds, beautiful sunset and an incredible full moon overhead. The trip was very informative and provided an intimate cruise. I would highly recommend this cruise to anyone that wants to leave their worries on shore and experience the beauty of the York River.

We were celebrating a 50th anniversary with young and old and it was perfect for all ages. It was not rough or scary for the little ones and the older ones in our group enjoyed sitting and relaxing taking in the scenery.

beautiful sunset

We enjoyed the sunset. The cruise focused more on sailing and all aspects of the sailboat. We expected a little more description of the sights along the York River and maybe a brief history of the area. The seating was a little crowded and awkward. Also, it was advertised a romantic sunset cruise: there were lots of school children aboard.

We live in the area but thought it would be nice to take the boat out of Yorktown. The sail was beautiful and relaxed. We enjoyed it a lot.

Second Trip This Summer

Our first outing was an 11:00 a.m. sail in June. It was a true pleasure, with the added treat of a delicious box lunch, so we returned with our grandson, our son and his friend and her 2 year old girl, to watch a beautiful sunset on the York River. Even without sufficient wind to "sail", the voyage was quiet, peaceful, and delightful.
