Nice cruise at 3 - 7 knots. Even had the thrill of going under the Gorge P. Colman bridge. |

More destination sailing than tacking in circles.

We thoroughly enjoyed because weather was beautiful along with sunset, however, I would like to see more destination sailing than just tacking in a cricle in the vicinity of dock |

While it is somewhat interesting to take a ride on a sailboat, the crew is juvenile and offers very little information of interest with regard to sailing in general or local history. Be prepared for strong winds. If you have anyone elderly or disabled in your party, you will need to arrive early enough to be first in line. Although they take around thirty passengers, there is only comfortable seating for about ten people. There are no true seats or benches on board; at best, you can find a seat on one of the trunks which hold the life preservers. At worst, you are stuck sitting on the ground or on top of various protrusions, such as the top of the crew cabin (which is slanted like a roof) or on one of the rope posts (which is shaped like a small stump). Food is served from the gallery, which is accessed via a small ladder. If you can't climb down the ladder, you can also bend over and shout your order through two small windows that are on the same level as your knees. In summary, this boat is not equipped to handle the number of passengers they accept, and the crew leaves something to be desired in their attitude and presentation. |

I surprised my wife on our 13th anniversary by taking her on your evening cruise. She was totally satisfied and so was I. The crew was very professional, curtious and knowledgeable. We enjoyed every minute and would definitely recommend it to family and friends. Thanks again for a great time! |

We were quite fortunate that the weather was perfect-72 degrees, no humidity, not a cloud in the sky! The schooner was a bit uncomfortable, not a whole lot of room to sit. But we enjoyed it so much! I'd do it again. |

My wife and I went on a sunset sail during our honeymoon. We both really enjoyed the time that we spent on the sailboat on the York River. I highly recommend this to anyone that is in the Yorktown area. The crew was very knowledgeable, extremely friendly, and they even let us help set the sails! |

Very easy to make reservations and board the schooner Alliance. The crew was wonderful, friendly, and easy to converse with. I do wish there had been more commentary about the shore. The cruise was advertised to include views of the battlefield at Yorktown and the Victory monument. We saw neither and this was disappointing. We pretty much stayed in one area of the river and didn't seem to move very far. |
