Yorktown Romantic Sunset Sails

We had a wonderful time and would definitely take the cruise again!

All we had to do was give our name. They knew we were coming and welcomed us aboard. The sail was nice and the whole thing as far as reserving online was so convenient. I would definitely recommend!

Best two hours of our vacation to Maryland and Virginia were spent on the Alliance Sunset cruise on the York River. I was able to help put up the sails with the crew. They were all awesome. We learned a lot about the names of the different sails and masts. I highly recommend the cruise if you're in the area before end of October. My husband and I want to check into their cruises in the Caribbean during off season.

Our cruise was a celebration of our 20 yr . anniversary . We found it to be very romantic , peaceful and serene. The crew of the Alliance were professional , polite, knowledgeable and quite friendly .We HIGHLY recommend this for a wonderful evening .

We were held up by a thunder storm. The crew was knowlegable and friendly. I wanted to see the ship under sail and see the crew work the sails in the wind. Most of the cruise was spent with ship powered by the engine. That was disappointing for me.

1. We just drifted in the immediate dock area. We used engines and current. Having the sails up doesn't mean you are sailing. 2. There was some "loud-mouthed" New York woman on the cruse who talked loudly and incessantly the entire time, but the ship was too crowded so there was nowhere to flee. 3. I wouldn't recommend the activity to anyone, with the exception of those with small children who they would like to introduce to the water. 4. The crew was nice, but the captain not as knowledgable about the area. I was mislead as to what could be seen, etc. on the phone when I inquired about the sail.

My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary a little late, so it happened to be on July 4th. We booked advance tickets on the Alliance for the 6:30 pm cruise in Yorktown. After a long day of touring Williamsburg on foot, it was the perfect way to relax and spend time together. Especially since it was the 4th of July, we could think of no better place to be than such a historic location. The captain had lots of information to share, and the views were fantastic. We arrived back at the dock in time to see fireworks over the river. It was a relaxing, beautiful, and romantic ride.

The sunset cruise was a wonderful exprience for both my fiance and me. We thorougly enjoyed the cruise and would recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing evening.

We were very happy with our sailing experience. We enjoyed the beautiful weather the day we sailed. Two people in our group took part in hoisting the sails and loved it! We were also very happy with the crew; they were friendly and knowledgeable. On the day we sailed, August 3, one of the crew members (dark hair with dark beard) gave us a recommendation for a restaurant called Waterman's in Virginia Beach and we wanted to somehow let him know that it was a GREAT place! Thank you so much for the fantastic sailing experience. It was truly one of a kind and we won't soon forget about it!
