Yorktown Romantic Sunset Sails

A two hour cruise on a three-masted schooner, this trip was peaceful and relaxing. Captain Greg provided as much local history as requested as well as responding to questions about sailing in general. Although there were perhaps 30 people on our cruise, it seemed as though we were there alone. A great time. We took the sunset cruise.

My husband and I would definitely recommend the sunset cruise. We found it to be very relaxing and we really enjoyed watching the entire process of setting sail. The captain and his crew were very enjoyable and would answer any questions. There were only a couple of things that we think could be improved upon. Because the tickets are non-refundable, I found myself worried the entire week beforehand about the weather. We only had one evening free in Williamsburg so if the trip had to be rescheduled, we knew we would lose out on the full $70. In addition, even though the sunset cruise is for adults only, there was a little child who was allowed on the boat. She was a bit tired and grumpy. We chose the evening cruise because it was for adults only...unfortunately, it wasn't as peaceful as we thought it would be.

My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary a little late, so it happened to be on July 4th. We booked advance tickets on the Alliance for the 6:30 pm cruise in Yorktown. After a long day of touring Williamsburg on foot, it was the perfect way to relax and spend time together. Especially since it was the 4th of July, we could think of no better place to be than such a historic location. The captain had lots of information to share, and the views were fantastic. We arrived back at the dock in time to see fireworks over the river. It was a relaxing, beautiful, and romantic ride.

What a wonderful way to view a sunset. The crew was very accomodating. Seating could have bee a bit more comfortable, however, there was enough room for all. Very nice trip. My only negative, was I love to sail and would have loved for it to have lasted much longer.

The schooner was smaller than I thought it would be, but it was nice. There was not a lot of seating but you spent most of the time standing at the rails watching for stingrays, dolphins, etc. The sunset was gorgeous. The crew was personable and very helpful with questions. You could even assist with setting the sails. I would do this cruise again!

We had a very enjoyable cruise, it was informative with items of interest told by the captain. The people we met on the trip were interesting and friendly. Yorktown is a beautiful area, go see for yourself. This was our first visit to Yorktown, I'm sure we will go back on future trips to Williamsburg.

I treated my friend for an evening on the water for his birthday along with another couple. My friend owned a sailboat years ago and was very happy to be back asail. I would recommend this trip to anyone who would like to sit back and enjoy the view and the atmosphere of an evening on the water.

We had a very wonderful evening. The crew was friendly and knowledgeable about the ship and the area. We were allowed to help hoist sails, which was a treat, especially for the children on board. We were able to see several pods of dolphins, another real treat.

It was a great boat ride the crew was great and the sunset was beautiful.
