Seller Description:
Greg and Laura Lohse have been sailing tall ships together since 1988. Their chief desire on every cruise is to help each guest feel welcome, relaxed and free to enjoy their cruise by doing as much or as little on board as they wish. Their vast experience in teaching tall ship seamanship and navigation enables them to provide a rich learning adventure to all guests who wish to participate in the operation of their craft.
Their two schooners include the gaff-rigged 105' schooner the Alliance, and the 65' gaff topsail schooner the Serenity. Both boats give you the opportunity to explore the Chesapeake Bay tidewaters! Activity Description
The Schooner Alliance and Williamsburg Winery have paired up for two special evenings of wind and wine!
On September 8th, come on board the Schooner Alliance for a sunset cruise and sample a selection of 7 Williamsburg Winery Varietals presented by their winemaster.
On October 6th, join us for our Reserve Wine Tasting cruise, which will feature the winery's reserve selection of wines.
Enjoy the beauty of the York River and taste some of the region's finest wines while sailing past:
- The Yorktown Battlefield where our country won its independence
- Victory Monument on the banks of the York River
- The scenic Riverwalk
- Dolphins or osprey
- Naval warships or submarines
- 18th century homes
A souvenir wine glass & assorted cheese platter will be included in the price of your ticket.
Please note: You may attend these sails and not participate in the tasting. The price would be the same as our sunset cruise at $35 per person.
What Is Not Included?
The price of your ticket includes the wine tastings only. A variety of snacks and drinks will be available for purchase on board the Alliance. Please bring cash if you plan on purchasing snacks or drinks on board!
