Fun thing to do in Yorktown

| It was a pleasant two hours, chilly, and no sunset since it was a cloudy evening, however it was enjoyable. I recommend it to tourists and locals alike. | ||||||

| My group and I thoroughly enjoyed the sunset cruise on the Schooner Alliance on Monday, October 19, 2009. Although originally scheduled for October 16th and cancelled due to inclement weather (I was informed via a telephone call and easily made arrangements for the later sail), it was a fitting end to our Yorktown celebration. The captain (owner) and crew were knowledgeable and delightful to speak with and the ship itself was magnificent. Everyone, even one member of our group who was a bit apprehensive about her inaugural sailing experience, had a wonderful time. A good value for the money with reasonable prices for adult beverages aboard. | ||||||

| We went on this trip because my girlfriend was very enthusiastic about taking it. We went out on a very calm day, so calm in fact that the captain had to use the boat's motor to supplement the wind non-existent windpower. It was a wonderful, very relaxing trip. Every member of the crew was friendly. There was a wide variety of ages present on this trip , and all were made to feel comfortable. The captain was more than willing to share stories about the history of the historic Yorktown area. A beautiful boat, a very scenic ride and most importantly very relaxing and enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this to anyone needing time to just sit back and completely relax for 2 hours. | ||||||

| We had family visiting from Ohio and I thought this would be a unique experience for them and I wasn't disappointed. The ship is beautiful and the crew were very professional and as nice as they could be. Helping to raise the sails was a lot of fun. We did the two hour lunchtime cruise and it was very relaxing (the glass of wine contributed to that). The box lunches I had ordered were excellent. | ||||||

| The sailing trip was relaxing but it was not what I expected. I expected to be educated about the area and things that had happened in those waters while on the trip. However, that was not the case. We simply sat around while the boat sailed back and forth across the river and then turned around and went back to the dock. Like I said it was relaxing but not the experience I was looking for. | ||||||

| We went on a Tuesday morning cruise around the sound and it was the highlight of our 12 day trip! The crew was delightful and the Captain was very knowledgeable about the local history of Yorktown! We really recommend this trip! | ||||||

| Enjoyed the sail. Not enough wind for the passengers to help but they can't controll that. Crew was friendly and informative. The four of us each had a glass of wine. It was outrageously priced. They should be ashamed of themselves for charging that much. We still enjoyed the wine! As I said in the header the sunset was beautiful, as was the river. I would'nt do it again but was pleased with myself for doing it once. Anyone should enjoy the experience. | ||||||

| We recently moved to VA and had friends come in from our old hometown. We throught the cruise would be a great way to show them the beauty of VA but still allow us time to spend together and enjoy each other's company. We were right. We had a great time laughing and catching up while viewing the beautiful scenery along the river AND a beautiful sunset/full moon combination. I'm bringing my 80+ year old parents back in a few weeks when they come to visit us in VA. | ||||||
