| For the price, trip needed more entertainment value, refreshments available or able to bring on board, etc... Staff certainly good boat pilots, but, not tour guides. | ||||||

| We thoroughly enjoyed our two hour afternoon sail on the Schooner Aliance. It was a beautiful day and very enjoyable and relaxing. The captain and crew were very knowledgeable about the area we were sailing in and pointed out items of interest. They were also very happy to explain the ins and outs of sailing a ship as much as one wanted to learn. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a relaxing and fun couple of hours! | ||||||

| We assumed that the sailing trip would include sights of the bay. We only went to the mouth of the bay and no sights were seen. There was no wind. One of the staff stated we went further than if we had been sailing since we did not have to "tack" back and forth with the wind. We thought we were going under the bridge in that direction but instead went close to the mouth of the bay. The staff were nice and courteous and answered questions. It was just not what we expected. However, it was a beautiful day and was nice to be out on the water. | ||||||

| We had a great time on the Yorktown Sunset Cruise one night during the second week of October. The sunset itself wasn't spectacular, but the ride on the schooner was relaxing. The crew was very friendly, helpful and informative. There were six of us between the ages of 35 and 65 and we all had a nice time. | ||||||

| My mother and I took my daughters, ages 4, 6, and 9, on the Alliance last Tuesday, October 7. I thought this tour would include information about Yorktown's history. There was no information presented! The crew did make small talk with guests and answer specific questions as best they could, which wasn't very well. My daughters were invited to help raise the sails. This was the highlight of the entire trip and it happened in the first ten minutes. (The low point was when one of the crew took off his shoes and scaped the dead skin off his feet in front of us.) We were ready for the voyage to end after the first 1/2 hour. The ship simply sailed out, then turned around and came back. No historical narrative or even reference to specific landmarks. It didn't hold anyone's attention, especially children's. | ||||||

| The 2-man crew was friendly, but the sail itself was surprisingly boring. I expected more excitement from an adventure on a 4-masted schooner with all its sails unfurled!. Perhaps the crew could offer knot-tying lessons or a tour of the boat rather than just having the passengers sit for two hours with the sails set for minimum thrills. I can catch a good nap on shore.....for FREE! | ||||||

| We enjoyed all of the interaction with the crew. They were very friendly and most helpful in regard to sharing information as well as answering all of our questions. They were great at explaining all they were doing and why. This was a very enjoyable "cruise". We wish it could have been longer. | ||||||

| we had less than perfect weather for our cruise but loved the experience just as much as a sunny day. In fact ,the weather added an element of excitement to the experience that was enjoyable, given there was no real danger. The weather actually enhanced our understanding of real sailing. the experience and knowledge of the captains was fascinating given that they live on the vessel year round. | ||||||

| This was a very relaxing boat ride. The Captain and crew were very friendly and informative. I would like to go again when I revisit the area. The cannon blast was fun. I would like it if they had some sort of music though. Maybe Rod Stewarts song "Sailing" that would have set the mood better. | ||||||
