The first half hour and last half hour were great for kids and adults. The kids 8-12 gathered in the galley for the middle part of the tour, bored with calm cruising and shore scenery. Relaxing for adults. Great commentary by the Captain and Crew, all very knowledgeable. |

My husband & I were on our honeymoon. Although we enjoyed the sail very much, we were disappointed that there were no dolphin sightings. Our crew had told us that they see at least 50 - 60 on each trip. Other than that, the ride was smooth and enjoyable. |

We were not able to take the activity because our granddaughter was sick shortly before the time of the event.
However we would like to express our appreciation toward the crew who waited for us as we had to make a decision and the captain for explaining to us how to get information on rescheduling the activity.
Also, on returning home we called to reschedule and were allowed to do so at a later time that was convenient for us. We are looking forward to the event.

My husband and I decided to go on the sunset cruise based on information we received from the concierge at the Patrick Henry Inn. The cruise was awesome and the view of the sunset over the river was spectacular. The ship's crew were exceptionally fun and knowledgeable. We learned a lot about the area and the tour of the river from Max, the lead for the crew. Great time! |

We enjoyed the evening cruise. The crew was friendly, knowledgeable and entertaining which added to the experience. There is not much shelter from the sun so the evening was the perfect time for the cruise, and had the added bonus of sunset on the water. We were offered the opportunity to help the crew raise some of the sails, which also added to the experience. |

We enjoyed the short getaway to break up the hectic pace. Once you are on board your environment changes and you have no choice except to relax. Crew was courteous and knowledgeable. It was a great break. |

The young deck hands were very upbeat and friendly, obviously enjoying their jobs. They were very helpful and displayed great ethics in their interaction with the patrons. The boat was easy to move around on, not cluttered. Had a very nice ride. |

My wife and I surprised a couple of our friends with this tour. It was the first time for all of us. We found it to be a most relaxing and enjoyable tour after a long work day. It was fascinating to hear the history of the surrounding area and the stress of the day was replaced with peace by the sounds of the waves. I would definitely take this tour again and will recommend it to others. |

We were looking for different things to do while on vacation in Williamsburg other then the usual sights and saw the Schooner Alliance advertised in a local magazine. We went to the dock and were able to purchase tickets for the 11:00 am. sail and so happy we did! First off Captain Greg and his crew were really down to earth and a pleasure, I even had the pleasure of being able to hoist one of the sails that day, they encourage walking the schooner and seeing the sights! The crew know the area perfectly and welcome questions and enjoy interacting with there guests. The sights on both sides of the river are gorgeous and we had the extra pleasure of seeing dolphins that day breeching out of the water and swimming with the schooner and it being a sail made it more peaceful with no hum of an engine, even Captain Greg said it was the most dolphins he had seen all year in one area! My wife and I both agree that when we go back next year we will be going again on a sail with the Alliance possibly there sunset cruise which looks like fun! Also the price of the tickets are very reasonable for the two hours you are out there plus Capt. Greg and his crew's hospitality really make it truly a magnificent experience in every sense!!! CHEERS AND THANKS TO THE ALLIANCE AND IT'S CREW FROM THE MARQUES FAMILY IN MAHOPAC NEW YORK! |

Not sure this was 'romantic' but we had a wonderful time nonetheless. The ship is beautiful. The crew was friendly and attentive. The scenery amazing. They do have drinks and souvenirs for sale, but I never got down to the galley to comment on the prices. This is a 'must do' event for those needing a break from the Williamsburg/Busch/Yorktown scene. |

This is an amazing activity to do if you're given the chance. Our schooner was surrounded by several dolphins the entire trip, that provided a wonderful atmosphere to just sit back and relax. Highly recommend. |
