Schooners Alliance & Serenity

Our children loved visiting the ships of the colonial era that were at the Jamestown Settlement, so as a surprise adventure during our vacation we booked the trip on the Sunset Schooner Sail. It was a wonderful evening with very friendly staff/deck hands and passengers on board. The children and my husband had a great time when asked to help raise the sails on the vessel! Additionallly, we were blessed with the performance of several dolphin swimming alongside the boat. The staff provided an informative narrative of the local area that we were passing along the shores and just as the sun was setting, we arrived back to the dock. It was a very fun evening outing very appropriate for families or the romantic couple!

The sunset cruise is really nice. would be better with live music. If you can incorporate a couple of drinks along with the rates of the tickets, it would be a good deal

Our cruise was a celebration of our 20 yr . anniversary . We found it to be very romantic , peaceful and serene. The crew of the Alliance were professional , polite, knowledgeable and quite friendly .We HIGHLY recommend this for a wonderful evening .

We sailed aboard the schooner Alliance on AUGUST 19, 2011. Captain Greg and his crew were very friendly and knowledgeable,made you feel very welcome aboard the vessel.My mother at 75 years old was over joyed to help hoist the sail.We had a hardy lunch aboard the ship (with an additional cost.) Scenery was beautiful,we even saw dolphins on the return to dock. We had a wonderful trip a big thank you to the captain and crew. THE BOWENS

We enjoyed the sunset cruise immensely. It was relaxing and very enjoyable. The crew were very friendly and personable. We had a great time. If in the area, please be sure to check it out, you won't regret it!

The crew was knowledgeable and informative, and engaged the passengers in raising and lowering sails. They explained sights along the way. They were very friendly. The trip was very enjoyable, and we're glad we took it.

We had a very enjoyable trip. Most enjoyable were the conversations with very friendly crew members. They were very informative about the Yorktown area.

Absolutely loved it!!! The owners should definitley advertize that there is limited seating for elderly clients.

We were fortunate on the evening of our cruise in that a thunderstorm passed over, and then the weather cleared, it made for a beautiful sky and even a rainbow. Our departure time was delayed perhaps 30 minutes, but we were entertained by the large amounts of jellyfish in the water off of the pier (and crabs, too). When the crew informed us that they were now boarding, we found them to be witty, informative, and personable, they were enthusiastic about showing us how to raise the sails, and explained what the purpose of each was. We bought a couple of beers from the galley, and a soda for our daughter. It was a beautiful evening and our daughter was the only child on board, but she didn't mind, she had a nice time enjoying the view. There was a local couple on the cruise, as well as several foriegn tourists, so we ended up talking with the locals and the crew mainly. The captain was friendly, he told us about how he ended up in Yorktown, and about how he spends the winter in Panama. He lives on the boat, and we thanked him for having us and made sure to tip the crew before disembarking.

We enjoyed our trip on the schooner very much. The staff was friendly and informative and the scenery was beautiful. The snacks and drinks to purchase were welcome as it became very warm onboard, but it was mid August so that is to be expected.

We took a group of 8 girls for one's 30 birthday who wanted to go sailing. I have seen the Alliance at Yorktown for several years but never went out on it until this past week. We were supposed to go in June but because of a death we weren't able to go. The staff with the Alliance were so awesome about allowing us to reschedule our trip because of that. They were compassionate and friendly. We also really enjoyed spending time talking with the crew while on our adventure. It was well worth it!!
