| The Sunset sail was awesome. Even w/ everyone else on the boat it was quiet and romantic. With a sweatshirt on the weather was perfect. The beer was also good. I strongly recommend doing this activity. Even though i was only when my significant other, i imagine w/ a group of friends would be just as good. | ||||||

| I booked the sailing trip for my husband and I and out of town guests. Our guests were old college friends and one couple had owned a large sail boat at one time. Everyone thought the whole experience was great!! One of my guests walks with a cane and I was very impressed when we got to the schooner that the crew had been alerted to allow her to board first. The crew was personable, fun and efficient. I will certainly recommend this sailing experience to everyone I know. It's a great way to relax and enjoy the water. Nancy Gurtis Poquoson, VA | ||||||

| We had such a pleasant experience--the creaking of the ropes and the wind in the sails added to the ambience. We had a chance to really talk, and also just sit in silence and watch the crew work the boat. Everyone was so friendly and informative. We especially enjoyed the lunch --The Carrot Tree put together such a nice meal. We were so glad we had ordered it. My 10 y.o. daughter enjoyed the firing of the cannon very much! We all agreed we would like to make this ride an annual event! | ||||||

| My husband took me on this trip for my birthday! We had a ball-Enjoyed the info from the captains travel log on the history we viewed and his journeys. The perfect summer sunset rounded off the trip. Found it educational and informative as well. | ||||||

| We had a beautiful day. The Alliance was fun for our whole family (4 adults & 5 children ages 9 - 2 1/2 yrs.). Anyone who wanted to help hoist sails got to as well as help steer the boat. The crew was very friendly and accomodating. We didn't get to see dolphin on our trip (although we looked) and the canon finale was exciting for the kids. Highly recommended! | ||||||

| We had a great time, learned lots and enjoyed our wonderful interaction with Captain Greg and the crew! In addition, we had the pleasure of sharing company with an 88 year young lady who shared her lifelong stories from her birth to today - as well as countless stories from her ancestors lives. Weather was perfect with a sunset that money could never afford. This is a perfect event for the young at heart! | ||||||

| My family and I had a terrific couple of hours sailing on the York River looking a dolphins and other wildlife. Captain Greg was very forthcoming with information about the ship and about the area and made the tour very enjoyable. Even the two 12 year olds and the 13 year old seemed to have a nice time just listening to the wind in the sails and watching the ship sail the river. Thank you. | ||||||

| The activity is about the right amount of time. When we went there was no wind, therefore we couldn't use the sails. We did get to open the sails which was interesting. The crew was helpful and interacted well with the guest. I would recommend this especially if you have children attending. | ||||||

| I was well pleased from the moment I began making the reservation. Zerve is exceptional for a ticketing agency! They were willing to answer questions and refer me to someone who could when they had no information about the question. Capt Greg and his crew went above and beyond to make our adventure fun, entertaining, and enjoyable, including a cannon shot for the birthday boy. I know some of our group got in their way and asked a lot of questions, but they were always handled with professionalism, patience, and sometimes a bit of humor. Hats off to the crew! (Um...make sure those passengers always spit on the leeward side now.....and that they know which side that is! HA HA!- inside joke- the crew will understand it) I have to say- everyone involved from start to finish made the whole experience great. My biggest disappointment was thinking that we couldn't get box lunches on the evening cruise (no one in our group wanted hot dogs and chips). But they managed to get an exception, since we were a group, and we got our box lunches- even on a last minute notice!! If you get the opportunity- sail the Alliance!!!! Its wonderful! My thanks to Zerve, Capt Greg and crew, and their support team! | ||||||

| If you are looking for an outing on the water I recommend a sail on the American Rover in Norfolk. It leaves from the pier at Waterside, has plenty of seating plus tour guide and you actually do see some sights. It is a much better experience than the Alliance AND is only half the price. The issues with the Alliance were that they crammed too many passengers on for comfort, we really didn't sail, just drifted in a circle and there was not really any 'tour' of historic sites. It turned out that one crew member in the back of the ship was actually pointing out a few things we saw and was very knowledgeable about the area and history, but did not have a microphone and we wouldn't have known he was giving this information if we hadn't gone back for a little shade. The crew members were friendly, but the outing just wasn't impressive. | ||||||
