| Thank you so much for the great sailing trip. The crew was wonderful, friendly, attentive and interactive. My granddaughter was thrilled that she got to help put the sails up. All questions were answered. The crew gave a great history of the area and talked to each of us personally. This was a fun and relaxing experience. I have already recommended this to friends. | ||||||

| The schooner Alliance is beautiful and v well maintained. The captain was careful regarding all safety aspects and all the staff were well informed and extremely helpful and friendly. I feel that $30 per person is a bit steep esp. with no discount for seniors. The trip is not very exciting but the surroundings are beautiful and the 2 hours on board were a little walk into the past on this lovely boat. | ||||||

| We thoroughly enjoyed the cruise and Captain Greg's laid-back manner. We moved to this area a few months ago, and he helped us understand some things about the geography and history of the tidal estuary. With a glass of wine in hand, we viewed the beautiful sunset. What better way to end the weekend?! | ||||||

| The kids loved it. They both got to help with the rigging for the sails while we enjoyed the nice view and leisure sail. The crew was informative, humorous and enjoyable to spend time with. We had a wonderful time. | ||||||

| I took the family on the Alliance because my wife and I had gone out on another schooner from Norfolk when we were down in the area before. We chose the Yorktown sail this time because it happened to be much closer than the other schooner from where we were staying this time (Williamsburg). I forget the name of the Norfolk schooner, but it was *MUCH* better than the Alliance. The Alliance is alright, but we happened to go out on a day that was not very windy, so we never seemed to get much of a sail going. Also, there is simply not much to see on the river (versus the Norfolk schooner, which takes you quite close to the Navy ships). I will say that the captain and crew of the Alliance were very friendly and knew a lot about the history of the area. | ||||||

| THIS WAS A NICE RELAXING CRUISE WITH GOOD INTERACTION BETWEEN THE CREW AND CUSTOMERS. THE CAPTAINS KNOWLEDGE OF THE AREA ADDED TO THE EXPERIENCE. I WOULD RECOMMEND IT TO MY FRIENDS. CHERIE STEPHENS | ||||||

| If you are a die hard romantic this 2 hour sunset cruise is for you. It was very romantic if you want it to be and relaxing. The crew was awesome. Very friendly. The sunset view was phenomenal. Beverage prices were not overrated either. I would definitely recommend this to anyone and would love to go again. | ||||||

| I can't say enough good about the ship, captain and crew. The ship was comfortable and clean. I felt completely at ease with the captain. The crew members were friendly. We were able to help hoist the sails. I would definitely go again! | ||||||

| I've been on "boat cruises" before meant to inform tourists about the historical area. Other cruises have been boring, making me feel trapped while the hosts give speeches about the history of the body of water. This is NOT what the Schooner Alliance Cruise at Yorktown is like at all. The guides are friendly, not too verbose, yet eager to instruct and inform when asked. The sunset cruise is beautiful, the water is nice, and the boat itself is an interesting setting. The drinks provided (beer and wine) make it nice for those of age. On a weeknight when it's less crowded, it's a very nice, romantic ride (but not overdone). I first went with my parents, and loved it so much that I then brought my boyfriend for a date. I highly recommend this!! | ||||||

| This was so much fun for the whole family! Both my 9 year old and my 12 year old got to raise the sails, and later, my 9 year old got to steer the ship. I was in awe of the Alliance, and the captain was fantastic! He was SO patient with the barrage of questions from everyone on board - even when he was asked (at least nine times) how old the ship was, he replied patiently and courteously every time. For the entire voyage, we kept waiting & hoping to see some dolphins - but none were in sight until we were nearly back. A young girl spotted some a ways back behind us... then to everyone's amazement and thrill, he turned the ship around and sailed over to see them! There were dozens of them, and we all just loved it. I would take this cruise again in a heartbeat! | ||||||

| This was a wonderful experience for the children (ages 8 and 15) and for us (their grandparents). The captain was knowledgeable and the crew was friendly. Passengers could help raise the sails and take the wheel. Cold drinks and snacks were available at a reasonable cost. We plan to take a sunset cruise in September with several other couples. | ||||||

| The Alliance is a beautiful sail boat. The crew is knowledgeable and nice; giving guests the opportunity to assist during the sail and ask lots of questions. If you are interested in enjoying a peaceful sail, then this is the trip for you. If you are interested in hearing a presentation of historical facts and sightseeing information, then another trip may be a better choice. Though there is no formal presentation, if you come with questions the captain and crew are happy to answer them. The experience becomes what you make it. You can relax on the deck and simply enjoy the wind on your face or you can carry on a discussion with a member of the crew to learn more about the boat and the area. Two hours on a sail boat is never enough, I could have stayed out all day but it's probably the perfect length for a family with young children. | ||||||

| I would recommend this short cruise for both the scenic and historical aspects provided by both the location and the helpful comments of the ship's master, who was very knowledgeable on all aspects of the area. | ||||||

| i purchased these tix as a suprise trip for my boyfreind for his birthday. i chose the afternoon trip as opposed to the sunset trip since my 3 kids (age 10, 11, 13) were with us. it was quite relaxing and enjoyable. would definitely do it again. thank you. | ||||||
