Schooners Alliance & Serenity

We had a really nice sail and it was a perfect day. There wasn't too much wind and the ride was very smooth and relaxing. The crew was very knowledgable about the area and they kept us entertained and informed through the whole thing. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a laid-back couple of hours.

The Schooner Alliance trip was very relaxing and beautiful. I highly recommend the sunset cruise. The crew were extremely nice and hospitable. We've been on a number of these schooner cruises (Charleston, Annapolis, etc.) and this one was absolutely wonderful.

We went on this trip because my girlfriend was very enthusiastic about taking it. We went out on a very calm day, so calm in fact that the captain had to use the boat's motor to supplement the wind non-existent windpower. It was a wonderful, very relaxing trip. Every member of the crew was friendly. There was a wide variety of ages present on this trip , and all were made to feel comfortable. The captain was more than willing to share stories about the history of the historic Yorktown area. A beautiful boat, a very scenic ride and most importantly very relaxing and enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this to anyone needing time to just sit back and completely relax for 2 hours.

My husband and I were in Williamsburg to celebrate our anniversary and he suggested we take the Sunset Cruise. It looked like it might rain but cleared up as we set sail on The Serenity. The captain and first mate were so welcoming and enthusiastic and made the tour very pleasant. We were fortunate to have many dolphins entertain us and what a relaxing evening it was. The sunset was one of the most beautiful we have ever seen. What a delightful evening it was!

I would recommend this cruise to anyone who wants to have a great time with Greg the Captain and his crew!!

the trip was fun. We sailed around the river, for two hours, which was the time that was advertised. The owners of the boat were friendly. Also, the price of a coke ($1.00) was reasonable. I didn't order a sandwich, but wish I had. There was a catered box lunch that looked really good, which was either $7 ot $9 additional. We had good wind that day and we enjoyed sailing.

The weather was perfect for the sunset sail! We were on board with our daughter, her husband and our three month old granddaughter. The ship was beautiful and the Captain, Laura, and Nathaniel were the most wonderful of hosts and answered many questions. The atmosphere was very relaxed and laid back. We would definitely consider this trip again!

We had just the right amount of wind to sail the York River! You could lend a hand with putting up the sails and taking them down, as well as sailing the boat, a beautiful, wooden, gaff-rigged, huge schooner! Clouds obscured the sun, keeping it out of our eyes. We came bundled up for a chilly time out on the water, which it was, but it felt GREAT! The crew was helpful and pleasant, and they seemed to enjoy talking with the guests and describing information about the area and the boat. They could have encouraged people more to "get involved" with steering the boat and taking the sails down, but those of us who wanted to do those things did get to help out! We did not eat their box lunch, so we do not know how their food tasted. This trip was my husband's birthday surprise, and since his sailboat's been out of commission for 2 years now, he LOVED being able to sail this boat! We encourage others to do this trip! They also do a trip down in Panama!!

the schooner was amazing! The staff was friendly, fun and hard working. It was an experience to remember! It might have been more entertaining to have been able to go closer to the shore to see the houses, but seeing the dolphins was a real treat! Can't wait to bring our grandchildren for this ride!

My second trip. The crew were very knowledgable and friendly. The young lady was very patient with an 8 year olgirl who had many questions. Hopefully, your trip up-river was uneventful and the sails remained on the schooner.

We enjoyed the short getaway to break up the hectic pace. Once you are on board your environment changes and you have no choice except to relax. Crew was courteous and knowledgeable. It was a great break.

I surprised my husband with this sunset cruise and it was wonderful. The riverwalk area in Yorktown provided much to enjoy before and after the cruise. Would highly recommend. Staff on the boat was a joy to deal with.

Provide more commentary on the sites we were seeing. We only got a short description of the history of the area --- and that only after we asked questions the crew could not answer.

york river is terrific setting, unique boat, allowed kids to participate, scenic. Wished for windier day.

The tall ship ride along the York River was well worth it! Crew and Captain were friendly, organized and sociable. Thank you for making this event memorable for our family. Makaryk's in Ohio
