The sailing trip was extremely enjoyable. It was fun to watch the sails being hoisted. The crew seemed to know what they were doing. They were very friendly and knowledgable. The distance we travelled could have been longer. We sat still for quite a few minutes at one point to make it back to the dock at 8:30. |

We enjoyed the laid-back attitude and friendly atmosphere. Weather even co-operated.
The refreshments provided were reasonably priced, and made the experience even more enjoyable.
Would recommend it and plan to do it again. |

The crew was great and experienced. There was very little wind, so it wasn't much of a sailing date. The lunch was fine. There was no sound system, so you couldn't hear much, or maybe that was due to the young 18 month old that screamed the whole time. You are very limited on your movement around the sailboat, and others took our original seat when we volunteered to hoist the sails, so we lost the shaded area. The actual ship was a nice smooth ride, but honestly did not go far, in fact, we could still see the Coleman bridge. It was a quick adventure, but it would have been better with wind, and no screaming/crying child. For a nice outing, I would recommend it. Reasonably priced and a nice afternoon of seeing Yorktown from the water. I am glad that Yorktown does have something to offer for customers. Again, under different circumstances our adventure could have been better. |

The sail was wonderful and I loved it when they fired the cannon. However it was too expensive for how crowded the boat was. The crew insisted we sit down while leaving the dock and there was literally not any place to sit even on the deck. We were packed on the boat like sardines. The cruise was advertised as a sunset sail (kind of romantic) and I couldn't even stand next or sit next to my date. We were not the last to board, but we did not push to front of the line. I was certain there woud be a place for us to at least stand next to each other regardless of where we were in line. I think they should lower the price of the tickets or sell fewer tickets so it is a quality experience for those who sail. Perhaps walk the boat with a few friends and have them sit down to determine the maximum number in order for people to enjoy the sail with those that they purchased tickets with. I live in Virginia Beach and have frequent out of town guests that I take to see all of the nearby cities. I usually take my guests for a sail out of Waterside in downtown Norfolk. I like the Yorktown River walk area better than the Waterside area in Norfolk, but I would not bring out of town guests back to Yorktown to sail I will be taking them to Waterside in Norfolk to sail on the Rover. |

Alliance Cruise a Winner

Our moonlight cruise on the Alliance was wonderful. Luckily, a break in the hot weather meant that our early evening cruise was breezy fun. The crew was helpful, polite, unobtrusive, but informative. Others on the cruise represented all ages, from young child to elderly. We are "retired" sailors who have sailed on the York River, so it was great to be out there again enjoying the water! |

I highly recommend the Alliance Sailing Cruise on the York River. The crew is very friendly, get you involved as much as you want to be, and the scenic cruise is well worth the price. |

We had such a great time sailing on the Alliance! The crew was knowledgeable and friendly and let my daughter help pull up the sails. The ride was smooth, like the expression "smooth sailing"! Relaxing trip! |

This is a great way to spend a few hours on the river. The crew was enthusiastic and willing to answer questions. We were allowed to help with the rigging and raising of the sails. The crew was experienced and handled the ship very smoothly. We had a wonderful time and would definitely join the Alliance for another sail in the future. |

I know i was told too use the bathroom before leaving. you still need to have one on board just in case. Also i have no idea how to do it unless you set on the deck. At the end of two hours i was getting sore. In all it was a good one time trip for the price. |
