Schooners Alliance & Serenity

The 2-man crew was friendly, but the sail itself was surprisingly boring. I expected more excitement from an adventure on a 4-masted schooner with all its sails unfurled!. Perhaps the crew could offer knot-tying lessons or a tour of the boat rather than just having the passengers sit for two hours with the sails set for minimum thrills. I can catch a good nap on shore.....for FREE!

Sweet craft and a good crew.

we had less than perfect weather for our cruise but loved the experience just as much as a sunny day. In fact ,the weather added an element of excitement to the experience that was enjoyable, given there was no real danger. The weather actually enhanced our understanding of real sailing. the experience and knowledge of the captains was fascinating given that they live on the vessel year round.

This was a very relaxing boat ride. The Captain and crew were very friendly and informative. I would like to go again when I revisit the area. The cannon blast was fun. I would like it if they had some sort of music though. Maybe Rod Stewarts song "Sailing" that would have set the mood better.

It was a very nice 2 hour cruise. Wine, beer, and sodas, and chips were available, it being a sunset cruise some cut cheese and crackers would have been nice, and would have gone over well with the wine drinkers. Crew was very curtious and knowlegeable. We (my wife and i would recommend it to any one)

If you enjoy the water and desire a relaxing 2-hour sightseeing experience, this is a great sailing experience. It isn't a narrated tour but passenger's questions are answered and sights are pointed out. I would not recommend this for young children who can't sit still or the elderly who may be unsteady on their feet, though; you also will be sitting on metal benches with no backs. The crew was very knowledgeable; the lunch I ordered in advance was excellent and very filling, and the driving directions, including where to park free, made for a stress-less experience.

The crew were wonderful. One member took time to point out interesting local history which we really enjoyed. All of the crew members were very helpful and enjoyable to be around. And I have told all my freinds and family to go take a sail. In fact I told them to make the trip to Yorktown just to take the sail. We are looking into taking the 10 day trip that one of the crew members told us about.

This was a great experience. I would recommend to everyone. We have some great pictures if you need.

We recently enjoyed the sail around the York. It is very relaxing but can be boring if there are people on board who do not engage in conversation. Luckily for me there were a few people who enjoyed talking. There is not much to see on the water so perhaps more commentary from the staff would be beneficial. However it is a pleasant experience if you want to get away from a hectic daily pace.

Okay, there wasn't much of a breeze that evening, so that limited how far/fast we could go (but, obviously, that's out of the captain's control). But other than that, it was a relaxing and romantic evening adventure. Captain and crew were personable and pleasant. Moving through the water with nothing more than wind power was peaceful. On board snacks were reasonably priced.

We had a great time on this excursion. The weather was perfect. The crew was very professional and informative. I would recommend bringing sunscreen for sure as there is limited shade. If I had to think of a negative it would be that I thought it was a little short ( about 2 hours). My husband said he wished we would have went out further. Overall this is a great way to spend an afternoon.

Went for a ride on the Schooner Alliance. It was awesome. The owners were very pleasant and made you feel right at home on their ship. We even got to hoist the sails. Learned a lot about sailing and the ship. Reccomend to anyone. Great value and great time.

The cruise was pleasant but not very entertaining.

Due to the poor directions we were given, and the non-logical road map in the local brochure we were given to use at our hotel, we had difficulty finding you.Once we did we discover your location, there was no parking across from your pier as you stated.PARKING WAS DOWN THE ROAD!!!!AND IT WAS OVERCROWDED PARKING AT THAT!!!!!By the time we found a parking space, walked to your pier, Your boat was just leaving on it's excursion!!!!!Needless to say i paid good money to watch your boat pull away!!! I am not happy!!!! Mr.Charles Dalrymple
