We enjoyed the cruise very much. My 11-year old son and I went on the 2pm cruise and had a great time. The crew was knowledgeable and enthusiastic. There was plenty of space for all the people on board. I would recommend it as a nice way to spend a couple of hours. |

We had a great time on the Schooner Alliance. With its knowledgable crew of three, they guided us through 2 hours of beautiful views, interesting historical tidbits and a different look at historic Yorktown! |

A fantastic experience. The sail was beautiful, and the crew knowledgeable. Our children were even able to help raise the sails! Perfect! |

This was our first time sailing. Although it was cold and windy, we really enjoyed this experience. It was so cold that I wish the crew had told us that they had sweatshirts for sell at the beginning of the cruise. The crew was exceptionally nice and knowledgeable. Not as much room in the cabin area as we had expected. However, we would totally recommend this activity to anyone thinking about sailing. Fun, fun, fun! |

This was a highly enjoyable activity from start to finish. The reservations representative was extremely personable and provided detailed information which set the tone for the outing. We were fortunate enough to go on the first sail of the season. I can only imagine that it gets better as the season progresses. The crew was very capable and more than accommodating. Our group consisted of 5 to 65 year olds. I don't know who enjoyed the trip more. I would recommend that anyone visiting the area not miss out on this adventure. |

Had a wonderful time. My husband and I had never been on a schooner before. We learned so much and Sarah and Toby were very knowledgeable. They answered our questions and let us participate in raising the sails. It was great . It made us feel young again. |

We had a really nice sail and it was a perfect day. There wasn't too much wind and the ride was very smooth and relaxing. The crew was very knowledgable about the area and they kept us entertained and informed through the whole thing. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a laid-back couple of hours. |

My husband and I (newlyweds but in our 60's) were on our honeymoon. We are from the New Orleans area and don't have anything like these ships around here, even though we live on a lake and are surrounded by water. We thought it would be a romantic cruise and it definitely was. The crew was very informative and helpful. They explained the workings of the sails and even let you hoist the sail yourself, if you wanted to. They were very friendly and took pictures of us and other passengers on board. All in all it was an extremely enjoyable evening. The weather was perfect and the sunset was beautiful. |

I really enjoyed going out on the schooner in Yorktown. I love sail boats and being on the water. If you enjoy a relaxing ride out on a boat this is a great activity. It is not set up to be a tour though it is just causal conversation, so if you really need to be entertained this might not be for you. |

Enjoyed the experience and personality of the crew and listening to their stories. The evening was perfect weather and the company pleasant. I would have liked to go further out down the river- it seemed like we went barely 2 miles and then just turned around. Maybe that was because of the low wind? |

we enjoyed our selfs very much. what could have made it a bit nicer was if the captain of the day was a bit more talkative and did the amount of explaining as the other crew members were doing as the the sails were a hoist and some of the fun things that go on on board. Would we go again? you betcha! |

We took the sunset cruise on a lovely October evening. The wind was a bit chilly, but we were fine with sweaters and jackets. However, if the weather had been any colder or a little rainy, we would have been miserable, as there is only the smallest area below deck available to passengers. The crew was very friendly, and we were given brief educational information on the schooner and area. Even though it was windy, the ride was not rough, and nobody appeared to be seasick. We were given the opportunity to help raise the sails, which was quite fun. Light refreshments were available for purchase, including hot chocolate. It was a very enjoyable outing, though not over the top exciting. There were no actual seats but there were plenty of places to perch. My only criticism is that the trip was just a bit too long. Perhaps the strong wind got us up the river faster than usual, but we were almost sitting still in the water for the last half hour as we drifted back to the dock as the sun set. All in all, it was a fun trip that I would recommend. |
